My son is currently in Thorpe Park with his cousins and keeps sending me photos of the rides he's been on. I have watched the rides on YouTube and they are all terrifying to me. I used to ride anything when I was younger and now I'm older I'm scared of everything

Do you like the big rides or not?

Love them

As a kid i loved the Wild MOuse at Blackpool (no longer there). My Dad took my Mum on it on their Honeymoon and my MUm hated it and never went on any rides like that again:joker:

The cars were tiny

I remember the Wild Mouse - my mum would never let us go on it - until they said they were removing it and we went on it then. It was wicked.

We went to Blackpool and Alton Towers every summer as kids and went on everything - last year I took the boy and his friend to Blackpool and was traumatised by everything I went on with them.

The rides are Thorpe Park all look terrifying - but he is having the time of his life right now.

i could never go an any of those rides that went really high and swung about. I was fairly ok with going on the other ones, most of the time

Don't have any thoughts. Never been on one.

I did once go on the Runaway train at American adventure land on a School trip. But that didn’t have any huge drops or loops.

Not a big rides fan.

Anyone been on the big one at Blackpool?

I don't like the upside down/vertical/mega-fast/thrash you about rides.

I love the big wooden/big dippers and stuff like that though. Nothing extreme just a car, a track and some big hills. Great fun!

Loved this as a kid! Loved Blackpool Pleasure Beach back in the 90's. Was even brave enough once when I was about 8 years old to go on the Big One at Blackpool - I don't know how, I could never be brave enough to do it now! :hehe:

I'm scared of them
But recently I have done some smaller ones and a drop ride.
It was called The Hangover. Terrifying :bawling:

A ride with excitement fear and danger for me usually comes with a pair of legs

I've been on the Big One a few times when it first opened. I spent ages watching it and then bottling it then a little kid got off it and wanted to go again so I decided to stop being a baby and go on. Loved it once it was over lol.

Last time I went to blackpool it broke down half way up and everyone had to walk back down....that would kill me off I think

I went on a Big One simulator in north Wales once (which was quite nice) but I haven’t actually done the Blackpool thing properly yet.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is celebrating the centenary of its Big Dipper ride.

One of the oldest wooden rollercoasters in the world, it opened on 23 August 1923.

Andy Hygate, head of operations at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, described the Grade II listed structure as "very special".

"Amusement parks change and adapt but you hold on to those things that are magical," he said, adding: "It's the history that's attached to it."
