Everything is going up. It's a big worry, even if you work full time.

That happened to me as well when I wasn't working.
The attitude of some of the jobcentre staff was awful.
I'm so glad I have a job now. They used to make me feel so depressed!

Yup. It seems to have increased pub revenue though since people are drinking to lighten the stress of being skint and not having the money to try to live your best life in any other way. Even with the threat of older or smaller pubs sort of shutting base and being closed people are still drinking a lot.

Their coffees are decent substitute when you can’t get to/really afford Costa (Starbucks is a little pretentious to me so I only get coffee and a nibble there very occasionally). A toffee latte with a bit of apple-crumble pie or some of their other breakfast foods are a cool start to the day or end of a night out (sorta). The Main Menu’s still alright I feel but I don’t crave for it as much as I used to. I must’ve been 17 or 18 when I decided I actually preferred going to Subway for a bite than Maccies. I’d just get a meatball sub (sometimes with a bit of ketchup, just to be wild) or something nice on Italian flatbread, a cookie and a little drinkie and just watch the world go by for an hour.
For a good chunk of people I know it didn’t take long for KFC and even nice Asda chicken to eclipse Maccy-Ds as the place of choice (ditto for Nabzy’s).

I usually go to Caffe Nero. I love their coffee. But McDonalds coffee is quite decent, sometimes I get it from there.

I don't go to coffee places anymore, haven't done for years, but Nero was always my go too back in that day.

I love an English breakfast. I'll definitely get one tomorrow morning.

That's my go to now, but i have it late. So i'll get to work, do my morning stuff, then get in the cafe around midday and have a full english. Then post a bit on here, and get back to work

To me Caffè Nero’s just a homely place to spend Saturday afternoons doing, watching the world go by in your own company or with one or two close friends who get it (the chill vibe). It’s not somewhere I’m fond of going just for the sake of wanting to drink a decent coffee. It’s not bad but to me Costa’s just better. Not as pretentious as Starbucks but a bit above Nero, which is very “mid. ”. Nothing against it but it’s not exactly my cup of … tea.

Do you sit outside in these places ?

You sure can with Starbucks and some certain Costas. Can’t remember whether that’s ever an option at Caffè Nero because I so rarely go there.

I’d rather just drink it inside to be honest. I almost feel the same way about drinking beer (I rarely use beer gardens instead of just sitting in).

Well it makes sense if you are popping in for a relaxed coffee to forget the world for half an hour, rather than sitting outside in it with everyone stating at every sip you have as they rush on by.

Alchohol is different though, sometimes you just want to be outside shouting at people.

No but its gotten to the point where progress and promotions are keeping pace with increasing costs. So not falling behind, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to get ahead.

I officially start picking up my pension in a few short months, so i've been on a saving crusade for a bit. It's impossible to crystal ball into the future with any certainty so, it's really best to be prepared as much as possible whatever stage of life you are in

No debt and no money worries for ourselves, but I do worry about people in different circumstances.

ooooooo exciting times, I hope they wont have taken the state pension away by my time, as there are mumblings about taking it away from anyone with a private pension which is just appalling

Its a struggle at the moment. Being on my own with a kid who seems to grow a foot every time he goes to bed at the moment and all the increases in everything is a worry BUT i don't have crippling debt (other than a mortgage), I just do without so Matthew can have what he needs (I keep telling him a Playstation 5 is NOT what he needs )

Wish I could send him down the mines though sometimes
