Do you?
Just watching some of the winners single performances brings back a flood of memories
I just wish they’d show the Fame Academy series again in their entirety !!
Including the rehearsal sessions
One of my favourite series ever
Same applies to that survival show on BBC?- may have been called Shipwrecked or Stranded or something
Think it was set on a lonely Scottish island .. a group of strangers had to survive on rations and one guy ( who was different) ended up living apart by himself ..

It was strong and great when it started.
Al the changes and twists to it that they started to put in ruined it.
It ended up more like playing to the weaknesses of the contestants rather than their strengths.
In its original form I'd like it back but not how it was in the last few series of it.

They should bring back Pop idol or Faw academy. I never had the chance to see those.

Sadly the charts are not a thing anymore and the music industry has fragmented so much that the acts would have no credibility or market so the whole sort of premise of the show is not there now

you can use X Factor for the eurovision entry though?
Malta had been doing that couple years as well, however now they're back to their own MESC (Malta Eurovision Song Contest) pre-selection festival, because more songs, more chances for their domestic songwriting talent to shine
or same how Georgia used Idols, The Voice as their selection method

just do a revamp on the jury with couple more eurovision experts, past artists as judges/mentors then
would love Lulu as a mentor  or Simon Webbe :amazed:

Just find a Karaoke night in your area. It's the same thing.

I miss it personally.
Yes it had it's problems, but at least it weren't a boring, hollow Reality Show like the newer seasons of MasterChef or nearly every series of IAC.
And not as fake and shallow as Love Island.
So basically yes I miss The X Factor, it had some good singers and iconic performances over the years (good & bad) and I would take it a million times over most of the newer seasons of Reality TV Shows.
I mean even Strictly has been **** the last couple of years.

Tbf I can agree with this.
I believe the really bad sabotaging of contestants starts when they had Sam Callahan in a Boxing Ring during Halloween night I think it was.
After that we then got really bizarre **** being handed out to contestants like Andrea being painted in gold, or Matt Linnen being made to sing a Ricky Martin song.

Strictly has one or two stars I’m a fan of/familiar with (Nigel Harman, Bobby Brazier) so I’m probably just going to tune into it this year and hope for the best. I’ve gotten to the point where I genuinely want to care when people talk to me about Strictly and how it’s the highlight of their Saturday night. To me there’s always a void that needs to be filled for everyone by some sort of entertainment and weekend TV that’s actually good helps people get through Sundays and quiet Saturdays. That’s why part of me feels like they should’ve kept screening Corrie and Emmerdale on Sunday evenings. Those two soaps are over-saturated in number of episodes these days but again it’s just about having a certain something to look forward to throughout the weekends, and a lot of people really love their soaps. Sunday TV never used to be as crap as it is now.

Oh I am going to give Strictly another chance due to liking most of the Show's seasons.
And I agree with you about the Soaps actually, despite it not really being my genre, I do think that putting Shows on over the weekend that some people might be interested in away from Sports and Reality TV is a good thing for variety.

Yup. Reality TV’s only a Saturday night hit for half of the year and that half usually isn’t in the summer, especially now that we’re kind of in the limbo with Big Brother. I wasn’t too fussed about them canning the omnibus for EastEnders because I tend to watch Easties as it airs and omnibi are only a repeat of Monday to Friday’s episodes anyway (nice Sunday tradition though it was). At this point I’m more bothered at how pathetic the ITV line-up is at this time of year, not that either Corrie and Emmerdale are that good at the minute or have been for years. But anything’s better than this.

I stopped watching years before they cancelled it, it got boring and repetitive. Thr judges were annoying too
I wish they’d bring back Fame Academy or at least show the originals again ( including the rehearsal sessions )

Yeah but he always seemed like an over as they changed the overs ages in that year. :joker:

If they bring it back they would have to go back to basics. It was at its best with no gimmicks or twists.
