This enigma died recenly - have you heard his story or seen the remarkable documentary (IMDB 8.2)
Essentially everyone thought he would be the next big thing, released an album in the USA
and it bombed and sold like 6 copies so he went back into obscurity working in Detroit as a removal man
But someone had a copy of his album and played it at a dinner party in South Africa, next thing
you know a record label bootlegs it and it grows into this huge underground hit
in SA resonating with the whole Aphartied movement. But fans heard he had
committed suicide. The docu is the story of 2 fans who eventually tracked him
down and ends with his God-like arrival in South Africa and subsequent concert!
