Well no, only one team can win. People should still show their support. Niamh's team welcome home turnout sounds great.

Making a World Cup final is something the men's team haven't done for 50+ years. The lost ONE game in the tournament, sadly it was the final. They should have met the fans who supported them and ignore the people taking the piss.

You should support them and women's football in general by watching their domestic game (not a dig at you personally), but that's the biggest problem in women's football, they never really get support for their club teams, they only get real support once every couple of years in the big international tournaments.

On the whole (maybe a controversial statement) women don't care for football, especially the women's game. Though, i do agree with the promotion of it, and maybe the next generation of younger girls will get behind it a bit more.

I would say the increasing attendance year on year would say something different. Don't forget the women's game was banned by men for 50 years. We're playing catchup.

If people liked what they did, they will show their appreciation. Didn't liverpool have a "we didn't win the league" bus through the city one year?

Yeah it is increasing, and the quality is getting better. Like i say, the younger generation of girls are certainly showing more interest. And hopefully they can capitalise on the attention put on the women's game over the summer.

Alex Scott was spotted walking through arrivals, then with fans saying she hinted the team would follow the crowd burst out into chants of 'Sweet Caroline'.

Sadly the team didn't come through the main arrivals hall - instead leaving by a private exit after touching down just after 6.30am and left the fans just standing there waiting

Absolutely disgusting

It would have taken them half an hour to see the crowd !!!

I bet you that they would have found the time if they had been victorious !!

Anyone who knows men's football well enough, would know the men would get absolutely crucified if they done the same in this situation.

I've never watched women's football before but I was shocked how bad it was.

When England let that goal in I wasn't surprised. The defence was a disgrace. One player was about 12 inches from the ball just watched as it rolled in the goal.

I feel sorry for the kids waiting at the airport. No doubt the players were too ashamed to show their faces.

And as regards Starmer saying they should all be made Dames. That man is an idiot. He'lll say anything to be liked. Plank.

Well I watched loads of highlights of Wrexham in their series and I would suggest that the standard ( skillz / technique/ gameplay ) in that league was above what I’ve seen in this World Cup ..

It is what it is …

My main gripe is their pundits ( all ex women players ) all exaggerate everything !!

They highlight the gifted players who supposedly play amazing passes or have sublime skillz or vision .. and it’s all nonsense .

They should just describe it how it is .

Tbf the Lionesses finished second.

Why in the UK (especially England) do we treat second place like it's ****?

At least Leeds have been put in their place by nearly every team that they've faced since then.:hehe:

Tbf though to the Lionesses I still see Arsenal & Leeds incidents as worse as they didn't have a 24 hour flight to get home beforehand, unlike the Lionesses.

The final was your first female game? You watched the one game England lost and yes, they played badly in the final. The rest of the tournament was brilliant! Mind you, I support West Ham, so what do I know about football?
