Britain's Daniel Dubois wants to "get justice" after his heavyweight world-title
loss to champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Seen as a huge underdog, Dubois floored Usyk in the fifth round in Poland
but it was deemed a low blow and Usyk was given almost four minutes to
recover.
The Ukrainian, 36, then won by knockout in the ninth round but Dubois said
"this wrong needs to be corrected".
"This needs to go further, it needs to be pushed," the 25-year-old told BBC
Sport's Ade Adedoyin.
"I should be a world champion right now. It wasn't justice.

It doesn’t matter if it was low or not
I wanted Dubois to win but he is not at world level yet and may never be
He is a nice guy and you have to turn nasty in the ring
The way to beat usyk is to bully him, smother him don’t let him fight his fight
It was an absolutely perfectly timed shot. Would Usyk have gotten up? Probably. So he cant be claiming it cost him the world title.:nono:
The ref warned Dubois FOUR times about low blows .. plus the rule is below the NAVEL is illegal- nothing to do with the belt ( that’s just a generalisation) .
Given Usyk wears his shorts lower than anyone else it suggests that the blow was WELL below the navel ..
Also the ref goes into each dressing room just before the fight and relays his expectations to each fighter plus he points where a shot will classed as a low blow ..

It’s nothing to do with the family jewels though
The area above the groin is also illegal

Carl Froch on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois body shot/low blow controversy: “For me, yes, it was a low blow. If it's below the naval, then it's a low blow. It doesn't have to be directly in the gonads for it to be a low blow… Whether it's intentional or not, the shot was low, the referee did the right thing.” [Froch On Fighting]

lets face it, if he got a full throttle punch in the gonads, he wouldn't get up

Froch has a feud going with Dubois promoter so meh
Froch has a feud going with Dubois promoter so meh
But 99.9999 % of the people supporting the Dubois claim are Brits
Also Usyk was hit by loads of body shots that night and only that low one hurt him .
Nuff said

Any contact below the navel is deemed illegal
95% of the glove is below the navel and it’s travelling upwards !!

Only just watched the video, definitely not a low blow. I didn't watch the fight, would he have won if that wasn't ruled a low blow?

well this is the thing, Usyk acted like he had been hit right on the nuts and hammed it up for 3 mins as he knew this would get him the delay, had the ref started to count to 10 id imagine he would have got up sharpish
Usyk never indicated it was a low blow as fighters always do

The general consensus of the fight game people is that Usyk would have gone on to win anyway without the 4 minute recovery
A few fighters have said you can tell it was a low blow by his immediate reaction .. instantly going pale , beads of sweat on his face and going on his back to lessen the pain ..

Yes because we all know his weakness is the body shot and rather and lose with dignity he and the ref cheated

Obviously not ..
Have you watched the ref giving Dubois advice on how to ignore the crazed crowd and just concentrate on his corner , his opponent and the ref ?
Sounds like he actually favours Dubois before the bout ..

It was on the belt. The belt’s there as a guide - nothing below.
I think he might have flicked the tip on the way past.

that is taken a few frames from impact
run the frames and the punch is right on the belt
Fair punch
ref corruption

It’s actually illegal to hit below the navel .
The ref tells them where HE judges the line to be in the dressing room .. it’s an individual thing depending on how high or low they have their shorts on the night .
He points on their shorts where he judges the ‘line’ to be ..
That’s why it’s ridiculous for everyone to be up in arms about his decision especially when that clip I uploaded showed the ref going out if his way to help Dubois out

We don’t know we’re his belly button is in relation to the belt
And he don’t like body shots so would wear his belt high

The navel was supposedly slightly visible just moments before the punch
But what apparently matters is where the ref told Usyk was legal .. it could have been different for both if their shorts were higher / lower than their opponent

We will have to see what the appeal brings
Me personally Daniel is not at world level and would lose those belts if he held them to his next opponent
