Those rules on unemployed benefit claimants are already in place.
The sanctions procedure is there to use if anyone doesn't comply to looking for work, and showing they are doing and have done so.

So what's new about this from Sunak and his band of deceivers.

Plus it's the low pay commission who has stated the minimum wage should be up to £11, not the government.
I doubt even this atrocious government would want to go into an election year likely, going against any LOW PAY commission proposal.

Starmer is moving closer and closer toward existing tory policies, so Sunak is creating daylight between the tories and labour. They will keep coming out with more quirky changes over the next 4 months or so and see which resonate with the public the most and then push them like crazy in the run up to the election
