Yes, but I would say that most people are aware of the fact that a trans person was always trans, it's just that there was a time before they came out. Hallie didn't just suddenly become a trans woman on the day she came out and started treatment. Obviously I can't speak for her, but for most trans people it is something they have known for most, if not their entire lives, but there comes a day when you have to essentially let everybody else know. I appreciate that maybe this just isn't something you know a lot about and I guess people have to learn about it somewhere, and I get being confused about pronouns etc (even though I think a lot of that discourse has been blown out of proportion to be weaponised against trans people).

Technically she still is male and always will be, gender and sex are different, like gender and sexuality are.

But to put it simply: sexuality is who you want to go to bed with, gender is who you want to go to bed as.

Someone being a transwoman doesn't necessarily mean they're attracted to men.
