I thought it was jack.

Sad news all the same, a proper legend of the game, but a little before my time.

He did,
86 is a good old age to go.

Something also worth noting is that he was adored by all the players down the years. You only need to see how the likes of Ronaldo and Beckham loved him

They didnt get on well apparently. I'm hoping it's not because of historical abuse that may have happened to them coming through the ranks as kids together.

But that's where im at with them.

if memory serves me right it was something related to the wife that Jack married. They fell out and never really reconciled

Only 27 posts for the God of English football.

Rest in peace Sir Robert Charlton. The greatest player in the World.

England hasn't produced a better player since him. And maybe not before him.

This is on the same level as the Queens death, in football terms.

He was a legend for England, and he survived a very traumatic event that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Yeah , I can’t imagine what it must feel like to lose your best 8 friends in such circumstances.. he apparently came round in the wreckage completely surrounded by them ..

He was supposedly sat at the rear of the plane alongside the team doctor as he’d been treated for his fear of flying..when they set off he was already a trembling bundle of nerves.

He had suffered bouts of depression, anxiety and nightmares since the disaster

Bobby Charlton for Man United was like what Alfredo Di Stefano was for Real Madrid

or Eusebio for Benfica

should be always in the hearts of the mancunians
