He's basically just a normal lad who obviously played up to being a really flamboyant and ott character to get on the show. He kept it up on launch night but you can't do that 24/7

Jenkin is probably a big character in his circle, but he has found it difficult from the beginning to fit in, I dont think he is miserable I just dont think he has found a pal apart from Chanelle, and he just doesnt get the people he is living with, have you ever been out with a crowd where you just dont fit in, it is excruciating

I’m guessing his body is rebelling as he’s not been eating anywhere near as much junk food / sweet stuff .. he’s been complaining that he’s not getting enough food for days Abs even joked that he was wasting away

I know that he loves carbs and your body breaks down carbs into glucose (sugar).

Yeah I quite like Tom as a person, but it’s quite strange that he got into the house considering there’s nothing remotely unique or interesting about him, he’s just a normal early 20’s bloke who just gets on with things, I’d love to see what he was actually like during the auditions :joker:

I think who you are depends to an extent on the people you're with. I can be talking and joking constantly, completely silent, or anything in between.

Jenkin probably was very loud and full of personality when he was auditioning because he was up against people who didn't get into the house. He also wasn't trapped with them. But now, he's found himself in a house full of loud people and he's struggling to connect. Some people will shout louder in order to be heard (and quite likely annoy everyone). Others will clam up. Jenkin has clammed up.

It could be he'll find a place in the house if some of the bigger characters leave before he does because there will be more time for him to get a word in. But in most series, at least 1 person has walked because they just haven't felt right in the house. I hope it won't happen, but Jenkin is looking like the most likely person to walk

…it’s another week of economy budget so that must be making them all feel a bit down but it’s just how they all individually process these things and then how the highlights edit these things…hopefully he’ll be right again soon but just working through any disappointment as well…

…he did have it all thrown at him in the beginning though and had an unfortunate start…although housemates know BB and that anything can happen, type thing…it’s not something that can be prepared for either…and that could be a contributory thing along with his Kinder Bueno disappointment and exhaustion with the 3am disruptions and basic budgets etc…yeah, they all know these things happen but when they all actually build in layers and they’re experiencing them…they don’t know how it’ll all impact their emotions …it’ll also depend on how the more up times feel in terms of balance as well…anyway, I hope that he doesn’t walk and that he stays and is hugely cheered when he does leave, I hope that he really feels those cheers and that they totally lift him again….

Tbh tbf I've heard of overweight people going through horrible mental ill-health while going on crash diets, it's really not recommended. He's going through one unintentionally while also being away from friends, family, and whatever else he does to unwind at home.

I was watching him last night on the live stream and he was shuffling around in his chair trying to look good for the cameras but to get comfortable as well … plus he was constantly adjusting his shirt and trousers .. just didn’t look at ease at all

I think that probably just watching the show isn't complete preparation for what being in it is actually like. Also, there is never any guarantees when it comes to what the other hms will be like. With a different group of people, he might have shown more different sides to his character.

What ever the reason behind it, there seems to have been very little fun or joy in Jenkin since he entered the house, and sadly he does appear miserable every time he is featured.

I think he’s probably a nice enough guy who lacks confidence, and has found himself well out of his comfort zone now he’s in the house.

I don’t dislike him but I do think this makes him very uninteresting to watch. I don’t think anything would change if he left as he’s having no impact.

I like that Jenkins calmed down from his entrance, because I don't think he would've thrived. He's gone the other extreme however and become totally invisible. I agree it's possible the lack of control over when/what he eats probably doesn't help either. That's not a weight-related comment, however. It's fairly typical if someone's diet is awful at home they will suffer cravings on the regular if they're not able to splurge.

All I actually said was that while I did accept that it wasn't a good thing to say, I didn't accept that its use, in this case, was 'homophobic' (as in the 'dislike and hatred of gay people') because she has never exhibited that once and didn't here.

I also made several other points, largely covering the misuse and overuse of the term because it cheapens it and robs it of its power and that I don't recognise the right of malicious little tyrants to misuse it in order to deliberately harm others because of the very real real-life damage that it inflicts.

At no time did I defend actual homophobia.

…yeah, I think his early days brought him down a lot and it can be difficult to rise from that low without familiars/friends and support circles etc and adjusting to so many new things…I do think it was so unfortunate for him…and he hasn’t seemed to fully catch up from his setbacks…and find his mojo again…
