It's likely very intimidating coming out of a very secluded environment into the studio with a crowd. I know I would be a mess so I can see why Tom and Chanelle look a bit awkward on camera.

Unless you've got lots of media experience (I know Tom did that weekender show but BB is a little bigger than that) or you're naturally confident, you're probably going to look/feel awkward when thrown in front of cameras live on TV.

A more realistic assumption is that they looked sheepish beause it dawned on them that they had been found out, that their duplicitous, reprehensible conduct had been documented by the BB cameras and broadcast for all the world to see. .There is nothing quite as stomach-turning as a rotter exposed.
They would have been vilified outside the house, but, as always, BB had the cheering rent-a-mob in place to greet the two wretches.
