View Full Version : Does anyone buy this sudden personality change from Olivia?

I don't!
She's been quite nasty when her crew was there. Stealing the booze first chance they get.
Now her friends are gone she's playing nice :suspect:

If you look at Tom and jenkin’s dramatic change towards Jordan while in the secret room you can see how it’s possible

Yeah exactly, it's perfectly natural for people's perceptions and opinions to change across the course of six weeks especially as you're forced to spend more time with other housemates and when you've had a chance to reflect on what's happened
Even when Olivia was at her worst she came close to self awareness. I remember her wondering the night after Paul's eviction 'are they delusional or are we delusional' while everyone else in her group were like 'nah we're definitely not delusional'

Agreed. I've said it time and time again, people SHOULD evolve and change during the span of spending every waking day for 6 weeks with the same group of people. Olivia is someone who we have openly seen reflect upon and apologize for her wrong doings - in ways that no one else has. It's worth giving credit for.

That was mainly due to seeing Olivia morph into a supposedly nice , caring, happy person the moment they’d been removed.
They weren’t impressed at all with her happy singing and dancing then being able to observe her turncoat behaviour for 2 days !
Tom pointedly said “ I don’t understand .. there’s always been tears and sadness when someone has left but just look at her ! “
As soon as her two crutches had been removed and she knew she had to quickly integrate in with the others to have a chance of getting the cash

As you lose housemates you have to adapt to stay in. This is what Olivia is doing, and what Noky and others have also done.
Yeah I buy it. I'm a glass half full kinda hombre. She also legitimately physically looks happier and softer. Basic physiological signs of somebody being more at ease and enjoying themselves.
It's really easy to fall into the atmosphere and narrative of what's essentially a synthetic environment as a viewer, let alone as someone living in there.
We endlessly analyse and take sides - it's part of the fun - but every year without fail you know what these guys do after the final? Get smashed at the wrap party together, laugh it off, and get along.

I buy it, there has always been glimpses of this side of her. She is not a bad person and I agreed with what she said yesterday, she does seem to be able to admit when she has it wrong.

Olivia has always talked to the whole house.
When she was with the garden gang she joined in their antics, I found her loud and too sweary.
But she has a good heart and a great capacity to enjoy herself.
She would make a decent winner.

Olivia saw what was coming a little sooner than the two morons, Psycho Tom and Jerkin' Jenkin, who sought to atone for theis sins and ingratiate themselves with the public, by elevating Jordan to "best pal status" in the spare room.
Olivia is simply a little more astute than the two run-of-the mill idiots who
shared digs with Jordan. It doesn't make her Mother Theresa. A career in Glaswegian slapperdom still beckons.

She doesn’t talk/ listen to who’s she’s speaking to though .. she just preaches in that annoyingly patronising tone

She was doing my head in on live feed. Droning on and on about the same thing.
Just let it go!

I don't really think she's changed that much? I think there's just different sides of her and she's very opinionated/loud/feisty but she's also a caring/genuine/nice girl which hasn't really been shown as much probably based on the divide in the house and the things that have happened haven't really allowed her to show that side so often

“ Matty , Matty have you got a drink .. do you want one , are you sure , hen ? “
That was Olivia fawning over Matty last night
This is the same individual who’s been grabbing and stashing the majority of the booze and oh so important goodies from these very same people for the last 5 weeks

I just think the house dynamic changed so much since Chanelle and Trish left. They seem to be a lot more laid back and relaxed. I don't like Olivia, but she has changed since those two left.

I definitely did.
But listening to her on live feed she's very keen to distance herself from Paul and co :suspect:
…I don’t think that it is a personality change as such because this is Olivia as we first knew her in the house…just a very relatable person and a song for everything…?…the Olivia we see now is more that person, so beginning to find herself again/as opposed to changing …and it’s less sudden and more as the house gets smaller and the chaos become less and she’s looking back on in reflection…?…

She seems very worried on live feed.
Not keen on her, but at least she's not boring.

I can see the change in her and I do think it’s genuine, she’s had the garden gang whispering poison into her ears for weeks and now they’re gone she has no choice but to get to know the others more and being around them is making her see she misjudged them over things out of their control. She’s shown glimpses of this side to her for weeks but always had someone pulling her back in and making her paranoid.

Well I’m far from being a fan of this madam but trying to remain unbiased I’d say that you can tell she’s being completely disingenuous just by listening to her

Everytime shes done something and been caught she made a personality change, but soon turned back into her nasty antics. Never felt she was genuine. She also never cared about her "mates" when they left. Quite telling. Game player 100%, being pushed to win, and she probably will.

I don't mind someone playing a game. It is a gameshow.
But I find her quite nasty.

I find her insufferable. What I meant by her being a game Player that most people dont seem to see through her. Even Tom and Jenkin who spent so many time with her were surprised. Shes playing a game as much as Jordan for instance.

Even if it turns out he wasnt genuine with feelings towards Henry, I still prefer him to Olivia. So I agree.

I don’t think she’s necessarily changed, but adapted. We are able to see more aspects of her character in a smaller setting, but I think there were glimpses of these previously.
The truth is, when any of us is in a closed environment with a very small number of people for an extended time period, we have to adjust the way we behave slightly to ensure the situation remains comfortable, especially if the remainder of that group is unified. We have to find a way to fit in, so, therefore, we have to become more tolerant, but we also get to know people more deeply in small group situations, so that might change our impressions of them.
Is Olivia taking this above and beyond what she needs to? Quite possibly, as on live feed, it does seem that she and Noky are blowing smoke up people’s backsides, and going out of their way to emphasise things that could be favourable to them in the eyes of viewers.

She’s turned on the charm 4 days before someone wins £100,000 and nobody in the house is remotely suspicious EVEN after learning everything Tom and Jenkin told Jordan about her and both of them telling Jordan they were rooting for him to win whilst she was stood there !
Mind boggling !!
Maybe the pressure of the spending 5 weeks in the house has blunted their reasoning ??

No, the whole series all I’ve got from Olivia is early Roxanne Pallett vibes (before punchgate) when she was just playing a character for the cameras and everything had to be a storyline.
