I know it's winter and all but can't remember the last time it was so bitterly cold in the UK that it properly hits you as soon as you step foot out the door

I am just warming up with a coffee after foolishly doing my local park run this morning, apparently it was about -2 in Bristol but felt even colder than that. Slowly starting to feel my fingers again though.

How are you coping in these arctic conditions?

Number 2 .... from tomorrow the temperature rises to 4 - 8C here, so thats winter over

Sometimes conditions are so extreme that they warrant their own thread

Snow here overnight.

Don't get that very often.

.

Coping with the cold by sitting very comfortably in my chair with the heating on, watching the snow fall. All the fairy lights help as well.
It really has chilled up a notch or two this past week, one of the few times I am thankful that I am housebound.

…I’m from the North East, living in the tropical climate of Suffolk now..so I’m still in shorts and t-shirts atm…I was thinking, when the decorations etc go up next week, that I might think of warmer clothing, just to feel that Christmas vibe…

It's cold here in London as well. It's a proper struggle to get up in the morning :bawling:

I met some friends in Cambridge on Saturday, it was pretty baltic but we kept the chill off by bravely sitting in a pub drinking mulled wine and then moved on to the Prosecco, funnily enough we didn't feel a thing on the walk back to the train station:dance:

I love cold weather, much nice than the mild wet windy conditions we have had of late

Yes a sharp morning is ideal when looking out of a pub window but getting up and going to work is less appealing

This is true tbf, although even though I work from home I did more than my fair share of car window scraping when doing the school run
