TiBB Music Festival: Johannesburg 12
13 & 20 January 2024

Official Wikia: Click Here! (https://channel-tibb.fandom.com/wiki/TiBB_Music_Festival_12)

It is time to let the competition begin again! I, with Shaun's knowledge AND Riley's (Wizard) lovely ideas, decided to create a spiritual successor to TiBB Eurovision.

Back to basics everybody! What songs will be heard? Where are the constant translations into French? When will the madness end? No idea.

Past editions of TiBB Music Festival:
Pittsburgh 01 (August 2019) - (Winner: Australia, ceremony starts p.4) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360098)
Gold Coast 02 (October 2019) - (Winner: Serbia, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=361665)
Belgrade 03 (January 2020) - (Winner: Norway, ceremony starts p.4) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363207)
Oslo 04 (March 2020) - (Winner: United Kingdom, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=364908)
Manchester 05 (April 2020) - (Winner: Italy, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366226)
Italy 06 (June 2020) - (Winner: Denmark, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=367392)
Copenhagen 07 (August 2020) - (Winner: United States, final starts p.3) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=368405)
Pittsburgh 08 (February 2021) - (Winner: South Korea, ceremony starts p.4) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=370459)
Pittsburgh 09 (April 2023) - (Winner: Sweden, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=384033)
Stockholm 10 (May/June 2023) - (Winner: Czechia, ceremony starts p.2) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=385245)
Prague 11 (August/September 2023) - (Winner: South Africa, ceremony starts p.3) (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=386652)

FORMAT
The format of the TiBB Music Festival will remain similar to TiBB Eurovision, however, there are some changes. I will have a Spotify playlist of all of the songs for you to listen to the songs during the voting period.

VOTING SYSTEM
The voting system from the fourth and fifth editions returns, albeit modified. Every country will each give out one set of 12, 10, and 8-1 points; and the public votes on the best song with the votes being converted to points by proportional representation.

RULES
- If you want to take part, reply to this thread with the countries you want! But please, if you do reserve a country, I expect an entry.
--From this edition onwards, everyone can choose 1 to 5 countries to participate as.
- In a change from TiBB Eurovision, participants can now choose a song that is already in the public database (look on Spotify or YouTube, there are plenty of songs on either one).
- Lyrics, an artist name, song title AND music video are all that's required.
- Entries must be submitted to me as soon as possible. The voting portion of the contest will take place over the course of a 1 week period.
- And for the first time since Globalvision, countries that are not in Europe or Australia will be able to participate.

You have as much time as you need to find your entries. Please find songs that we all may enjoy, and please don't feel afraid to take part The more entries, the more fun it is to run. Songs can be about anything you like, and whilst we are fairly liberal with what is deemed "in good taste" obviously a song containing 30 different death threats may well find itself lost in my inbox and doomed never to enter.

The winner of this glorious festivity shall also receive a supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics a spot in the TiBB Music Festival Hall of Fame! - so if that isn't motivation to bring your A-game, I don't know what is.

Like last edition, the Big 6 (the top 6 of the previous edition) will all qualify for the final. All of the countries mentioned below will be free game. From now on, the UK will be split into the 4 nations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Because of the war in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia will not be selectable until further notice.

Hey Josiah, I’ve not played this before, so can I ask if the song actually needs to come from the country chosen, or can any song be picked to represent the country?

Josiah.
08-12-2023, 12:46 AM
It's supposed to come from the country chosen, but I am lenient if the artist with ties to the country is used.

Josiah! You said you would not pester me to vote. I have no intention of doing so. I don't like that you have to submit two sets of votes. I think it's stupid. Your opinion is your opinion. One set of votes that reflect what you think is adequate. But they have to be different? It doesn't make sense.

If you choose one or more countries then yes it does make sense. Like I voted how I felt they’d vote. Eg. USA voting their neighbour etc.

I found that post a little rude to Josiah who has been doing this for years and think you came off a bit too strong
