We get it - Phil groomed a child until he was old enough to legally shag, and then dropped him a couple of years later. He was very careful to keep within the law.
We also get that easily replaceable staff members were afraid to speak out for fear of losing their jobs.

Hasn't all this been established for months now?

Yes, but ITV will not say that

it's old news. In the eyes of the law he did nothing wrong. It's unlikely he will return to our screens any time soon, and even if he does, no-one is forced to watch him. It must be a slow news day

He had an affair with someone in their 20’s it’s about time people got over it, if everyone who had an affair with someone who worked underneath them got the treatment Phil got, the halls of tv studios and newspaper hqs would be wastelands

Maybe not every setting .. it’s extremely ‘safe’ in education settings whereas the 20 years I spent working in finance was the exact opposite ..

40 years ago I had a an owner / boss who hired the girls with the best legs .. his desk was at the bottom of the stairs ..

Older men preyed on women and older more powerful women preyed on the younger , ambitious guys .

He was grooming him from when they first met, massively overstepped his professional bounds. Situation is as it always was: he didn't do anything illegal so he shouldn't be in jail, but it's 100% correct that he lost his job.

And months and months later, there is still no evidence or even accusation of such a thing occuring

There's plenty of circumstantial evidence (teenage boys spending time alone with unrelated 50 year old men is incredibly suspect) and unless the guy himself verifies it as true (which he's made it clear will not happen) - what hard evidence could there possibly be? There aren't going to be perfumed handwritten notes lying around.

What do you think grooming is?
