View Full Version : 2024 Winter Transfer Window

rumours:

The January 2024 transfer window, which opens in just over a fortnight, is set to provide us with many more expensive transfers.

Chelsea and Arsenal are in the market for a top-class centre forward and the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Lois Openda have all been shortlisted by both teams.

Man Utd are looking to bring in at least four new players in January; a right winger, a centre back, a defensive midfielder and a number eight, as per reports.

They also could offload a number of players, with Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek transfer listed, while Casemiro and Raphael Varane's futures are up in the air. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to take over a minority stake in the club and he will be in charge of transfer policy. The biggest question is whether Ratcliffe will sack manager Erik ten Hag.

Tottenham need more depth in their squad and will likely sign an attacking winger at the very least. Newcastle, meanwhile, have an injury crisis and may bring more bodies in. A centre midfielder to replace the suspended Sandro Tonali is a necessity. Further down the table teams are looking to buy in order to avoid relegation.

Other Premier League players are looking for regular playing time ahead of Euro 2024. These include Man City's Kalvin Phillips and Tottenham's Eric Dier.

The first confirmed transfer of January 2024 saw Brighton sign 18-year-old Romanian winger Adrian Mazilu from Farul Constanta for €3 million. It was completed a few months before the winter window opened as Mazilu was allowed to finish 2023 with the Romanian team.

PSV looking for a defensive midfielder backup for Schouten and couple of central defenders

Donyell Malen might leave Borussia Dortmund

Mats Wieffer could make a winter transfer to a bigger team from Feyenoord

Ajax i think will offload some of their recent new signings again

Josip Sutalo who likely to return to his home country Croatia (homesick)

Anton Gaaei (flopped so might leave on loan)

-----------------------
am curious what we Fortuna Sittard gonna do, well depends on if someone is leaving for some money, if no one leaves, we make no signings, since we have no budget otherwise and we wanna stick to FFP rules

can see RB Leipzig also going on the market tbh, now Werner moves to Spurs

Vitesse deffo will be going on the market, as they'd want to avoid relegation (18th place currently)

Fortuna Sittard has interest in signing Thomas van den Belt on loan from Feyenoord, the new rotterdam signing has not enough playing time, since the midfielder came over last summer from PEC Zwolle

former Liverpool youth product too btw  one appearance in swedish national team as well

decent signing this one, we deffo needed one extra forward anyway, kinda was thin with just Kaj Sierhuis as a strong name up front, and more youth talents to fill it up so his experience comes in quite useful for the remainder of this season

Interesting

TalkSport just reported that Henderson has bought himself out of his 18 month contract..
But how is that possible if they’re paying him £700,000 a week !

Edit

Oddly enough I seem to recall Romerio buying himself out of his contract decades ago and it cost him around £6 million from what I remember

it depends on the terms of the contract. If he was smart, he would have had a clause put in given the environment was totally different

there have been quite a few stories in the past about Saudi clubs not paying what was promised, so it's not a new thing

Also, the Qatar guy that was supposedly competing with Radcliffe to buy Man U. He at no point was able to prove that he had the funds to go through with the purchase. It was all a scam

He should do his best to push through that transfer. Newcastle will be a PL mainstay, but it's unlikely they're gonna win any silverware in the coming years. Going to Bayern Munich he'll be competing for trophies, major trophies, every season. 100% a move a talented player like him needs.

Fortuna Sittard transfer news

Out:

Ivor Pandur (GK) 2 million to Hull City

and possibly Tijani Noslin (FW) rumour is Hellas Verona want him for around 3 million

potentially making 5 million profit this winter is amazing for a club like Fortuna

In:

Justin Lonwijk (MF) on loan from Dinamo Kyiv

Michael Verrips (GK) brought back from his loan spell at FC Groningen

Kristoffer Peterson (FW) free agent, after his contract expired at Maccabi Haifa

if Noslin leaves, we need something in return up front otherwise looking pretty thin in that department

our 1st choice goalie is Luuk Koopmans, our cup goalie Michael Verrips

Nicky91
22-01-2024, 02:23 PM
especially when we are in the quarter finals of the dutch cup (now drawn vs Groningen another away match either :idc:)

i don't rate groningen that highly tbh, as long as we keep a cool head, good chance of reaching of semi's maybe? but we do need something in return for Noslin (and tbh Noslin has my sympathies if he wants to sign with Hellas Verona)

Koopmans/Verrips

Dijks/Voet, Siovas/Fofana, Guth, Pinto/Markelo

Rosier, Duarte (sadly he is on africa cup duties now with Cape Verde)/Lonwijk, Halilovic/Griffith, Ferati and we also still got Ozyakub

Oratmangoen, Sierhuis/Peterson, Cordoba/Vita, and we also still have Belkheir, Robberechts, Lazetic

Nicky91
23-01-2024, 09:34 AM
Fortuna Sittard has signed Jayden Braaf on loan from Hellas Verona, therefore there are truths of the transfer rumour of Tijani Noslin to the club from Verona

the 21 yr old forward Braaf, played in youth teams of Ajax and PSV before heading to Manchester City in 2018, and he signed with Hellas Verona in May last year, just recovered from a injury, the italian club wants to give him playing time on a loan spell in the eredivisie

decent work from Mr Americo Branco :clap2:

West Ham have agreed a deal with Manchester City to sign England midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan for the rest of the season.

Phillips, 28, signed a six-year contract when he arrived at City from Leeds in a £45m deal in July 2022.

However, he has struggled under Pep Guardiola and has only started twice this term in all competitions.

Phillips, who is also interesting Juventus, now appears set to have a medical in London later this week.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem, with the Hammers set to cover Phillips' salary and there will be an option to make the move permanent.

Newcastle just don't have the income to compete with the big clubs, so FFP is a real problem

By this time last year there had been 26 signings in the Premier League, of which 21 were permanent. Of the fees that were disclosed, top-flight clubs spent £352.2m by 24 January [before add-ons].

This season, nine players have been signed by Premier League clubs, of which only four have been permanent. Disclosed fees amount to £32.87m.

Manchester City have signed Argentina Under-17 midfielder Claudio Echeverri from River Plate.

City will pay about £12.5m for Echeverri, who has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract that runs to 2028.

The 18-year-old, who has made six first-team appearances for River Plate, will remain with the Argentine club throughout 2024.

City agreed a similar deal with River for Argentina forward Julian Alvarez in January 2022.
