View Full Version : New Trish drama
Thought today I'd check up on updates to see if Jenry had a wedding date set yet (a joke, guys). Found this on Reddit which is very recent...
She doesn't sound very apologetic, suddenly now, her words aren't that bad. She was just doing what Twitter people did back then (Twitter was rough, y'all...) like Twitter was her whole personality... her colored friends goaded her, etc. She gave a number of excuses. Mainly the vibe was people should just get over it. This is what narcissism does. The self-reflection stuff only goes surface level deep as long as it makes that person look good. She was all about it of course in the house because it kept her on a pedestal and no one could touch her... now she doesn't look good, because the real world now has come to light, so of course she's not happy about the self-reflection part not showing her in her very best light... it's everyone else's fault for not seeing her in her true light, of course.
Her friend said she held the entire show. No one else was cast and had people voting for them, apparently? Mad. Is it really surprising, though?

where she falls down is her utter hypocrisy

thank goodness she didn't win, I think she was ousted by ITV as she was so popular when she was evicted it made no sense but does now
I’m still ok with Trish .. I was initially disappointed when the tweets came to light but ultimately I feel that we saw the real Trish in the house and that’s the Trish that I loved .. she was my favourite after Jordan went off the rails with that weird hippy doctor guy
Looking at that clip . I’m also Team Porsche

When society spends 10 years putting you on a pedestal, telling you you're brave, amazing and faultless just for being a given gender, sexuality or race with no regard to your individual attitude or behaviour, you start to believe your own hype.

That's definitely a fair point.
I do ultimately agree with Trish though that people have overreacted to "edgy" tweets that are overall harmless, given the fact that most of these Tweets are over 10 years old.

It was racism, not sure why she would get a pass because the Tweets were 10 years old she was in her mid 20s, an immigrant herself who said she suffered racism why would you want to visit that on someone else? Its actually worse as she encountered rascim herself so there really is no excuse

yes but their past is out there for all to see and they have to flag it to every potential employer...... Trish didnt even consider she had done anything wrong which was a bit odd

Agreed
It was a total shock to me as she was my clear favourite after Jordon had gone off the rails with Matt

This is the thing, it's the fact that she went on about "micro aggression's" in the house but is trying to brush off out right racism as a joke (and I say that as someone who was a fan of hers in the house)
Has she actually explained things in detail anywhere ?

…not defending or excusing Trish in any way because I really don’t know enough context to make comment …I do feel and awaits have, that BB’s apparent welfare package and background checks were so poorly done and it was so disappointing to see …it just all created a situation that left one of their housemates exposed to much potential social media ‘hate’….which really is very ironic in view of the derogatory tweets that were exposed…and apparently exposed very easily…I mean, it’s all just a perfect circle of irony…

They don't seem to do any sort of even social media searches on their HMs which is pretty poor

…yeah, it’s so bad because it doesn’t appear to be things that have required any extensive searching…the account was closed when she was in the house as all housemates accounts are …and then immediately it was reopened after eviction, all of the tweets were found…and they were meant to have employed a company to have searched all of the social media accounts for the very reason of uncovering exactly what was exposed…

I mean it's safe to say anything that a HM has put out on their social media IS going to resurface, not might but definitely will. The only thing I can think of is that the producers think it will be good for the show. There's literally no other reason why they'd have a HM on there with questionable SM accounts otherwise because it's so easy to check that. And I'm not even saying HMs who have said said something questionable shouldn't be HMs but if you're going to ban that HM from appearing on the spin off shows and having their proper time after they're evicted on the shows then why put them in there at all? The only reason is because it will generate a bit of a frenzy in the media and on social media which imo is shitty behaviour towards these people, no matter what they've said on SM

…yeah for sure, it isn’t the first time that something similar has happened with a housemate and even some have been removed from the show when it could have been prevented by doing some even quite basic background checks…that tended to be more the Channel 5 series that had a tendency to ‘sensationalise’ anyway…those series seemed to have their foundations built on drama and sensationalism and that got more and more…I was really disappointed with the Trish thing because I really had felt that it was more ‘back to basics’ and just showed a little more integrity and relied less on that ‘drama headline’ stuff, you know…
….I’m still excited for CBB and the next civilian one…I don’t feel that let down by it that I would cancel them……but SM is also a very toxic place and if it can easily be avoided, no one should be exposed to that level of negativity…and as I say, the irony of it stemming from negativity in the first place ….

And surely it would have been more productive anyway to have her on and ask her about it instead of just pretending she didn't exist and was never on the show. I might not like what she said but it isn't illegal for her to have said these things either so bring her on and speak to her about it. Ask her how she thinks its ok to say that stuff about Asians and then act like she was against racism in the house. We need more dialogue and debate in life

Oh me too, i just hope this type of thing won't be a pattern and is just a glitch

People still change as they get older, even as fully grown adults.
Like speaking for myself, I feel like I'm very different in certain ways now than when I was 20 for example.
Plus controversially I will just say it, saying something racist whilst not a good thing to do imo, I operate on actions speak louder than words, and this is the same franchise that had Jim Davidson not just on the Show, but also win the whole thing.
It's hypocritical of the franchise to have been so harsh on Trish saying stuff, yet Jim gets a chance to redeem his image on the Show, that is just some ****ed up morality by BB.

She used a made up term off of Twitter?
I'll still defend her out of fairness, but Trish not knowing how to say passive aggressive does admittedly grind my gears though.
I very much doubt Trish cares what any of us thinks, if in the end if we're just going to get read the riot act for not seeing it in their perspective. She just wants the follows and social media hate for clout. These pseudo-empathetic type people are massive frauds, imo.
I could not get through the interview. In the very beginning she's saying she didn't want to be the first to "suffer an injustice", but was happy when it was Olivia and Jenkins, but not her (is she saying they did or didn't suffer injustice?)... so she was already looking to label any tension and disagreements as something more major than it was. Fraud.
