So happy for her!
Just pre-ordered the re-release of this song on vinyl earlier. I've got tickets to see her in July so it's great she's having this renaissance now. Maybe I can take it with me and possibly get her to sign it.

Why’s the song popping off now? The movie was out like 2 months ago. Maybe more people on it now that it’s on VOD ?

She’s actually hit the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time ever because of the song’s resurgence from the movie coming out.

This, word of mouth (for those certain "scenes") and TikTok mainly I think. People are doing their own versions of the ending (clothed thankfully) :joker:

…I’m so happy for Sophie Ellis-Bexter, that the song has become more iconic and is reaching a whole new appreciation……she also has performed her own version of that scene on Tik Tok….looking fabulous and fully clothed ….….
…she apparently watched Saltburn for the first time with her 19yr old son…it was my son that recommended it to me when he watched it…and one of the first things he said was….oh, it’s great, you must see it… but it’s not one to watch with you on a family movie night….…

That’s impressive. Happy for her and the song will forever be a bop, just doesn’t get old

Just shows you the state of modern music. Dragging up the old hits.
I am more into 1980s music. I listen to the radio these days and all the 'songs' sound the same.
Hardly any melody, loads of samples - bits of music nicked from old records, and a lot of talking. No singing. Or should I say rapping which is talking to me.

I agree up to a point !!
Rapping/ hip hop leaves me cold .. no melody , no singing .. can’t tell a damn word they’re saying either .. oddly many of the top selling rap tracks pinch a melody from our old songs ..
That said Stormzy has done some lovely , melodic trax .. what a lucky beggar .. so talented , everyone loves him plus his partner is Maya Jama !!
Also there are some absolutely marvellous singer songwriters/ bands releasing music these days .. it’s just harder to find
