[Iran's Revolutionary Guards said
they struck what they claimed
were an Israeli "spy headquarters"
in Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region.

Four civilians were killed and six hurt
in the attack, local authorities said.

Iraq recalled its ambassador from Tehran,
condemning the strikes as a "blatant violation"
of sovereignty.

There has been no comment from Israel.]

Then not long ago :

[Iran has launched attacks in Pakistan targeting
what it described as bases for the
Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl,
potentially further raising tensions in
the Middle East already roiled by
Israel’s war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip]

Why would the West do this

i think iran is just destabilising the entire region. If every country is trigger happy, mistakes happen and then everything escalates. I think it's their new strategy
