Should be epic this year.
There is a netflix documentary out about it.They love Scotland.
Scotland play wales for an easy win first, then some tough games against France, england and Ireland..pump them, then it's an easy stroll to the grand slam against the Italians.
Maru..if you have time it would be interesting to hear your take on rugby v American football.
But in more exciting news.
The Rugby League Super League kicks off on Thursday 15th of February.
The opening game is the Hull Derby
Hull FC vs Hull KR at a packed out KC stadium (atmosphere through the roof)
Every single Super League game this season will be live on Sky Sports for the first time ever.
This is your time to fall in love with the greatest sport on Planet Earth.
Once you're hooked, there's no going back. It's just that good.
The Hull Derby is one of the World's greatest sporting occasions. It's something you have to see.

As my gay friend said to me just the other day, Unions better, in league you cant see the bodies for padding and sludge.
As my gay friend said to me just the other day, Unions better, in league you cant see the bodies for padding and sludge. All the modern coaches in Union now are from Rugby League. We had to learn them how to tackle.
The only reason Union gets more coverage is because League is a working class Northern sport, whereas Union is an upper-class, University, posh boy sport.
Can't believe you Scots haven't got yourselves a Rugby League team yet.
Players like George Fairburn (A legend in Hull) and Alan Tait were both greats at our sport.
You could easily get a team together to compete in the Super League.

Outcasts.
Nice blokes though
Enjoy watching 4 through the legs plays when the ball drops, instead of 6 plus blokes smashing into each other until they ball drops

Union has improved lately, since the Rugby League players and coaches have come in (simply because they pay more money) but it will always be inferior to League as a spectacle.
We just can't compete because of the money involved. Union gets far more funding than League.
That's why football is absolutely dominant in sport. The money wins.
For me, Rugby League and Darts are the greatest sports to watch for pure exciting spectacle.
Darts now has the money involved and look how it's took off. Rugby league would do the same if the money was there.

My least favourite sporting event. The nation suddenly turns into rugby superfans despite never usually caring about the sport and the pubs suddenly become rugby central despite never showing it any other time. Becomes a nightmare trying to find somewhere to watch the Premier League because everywhere prioritises the rugby despite football being the lifeblood of most pubs which show sport all year round.

I'm the same with PRIDE, and Notting Hill Carnival.

Case in point I've gone to my usual pub today to watch Villa-Sheffield United. This pub usually shows every Prem game - it's a football pub. Today it's full of rugby fans I've never seen in here before and it's showing Wales vs Scotland across all screens. We're in bloody England. Second half only for the Prem apparently. Sigh

It'd have to involve the husband. I'm not the best person to ask

Oh so like American football... Silver lining: very little brings people together like this, though. Even holidays have become somewhat ordinary and obligatory compared to what it used to be.
