View Full Version : Matches effected by VAR errors to be REPLAYED !
Breaking News !
A Belgian Pro League match between Anderlecht and Genk will be replayed in full due to a video assistant referee (VAR) error, after the country's disciplinary council for professional football ruled in favour of a Genk appeal on the grounds of a misapplication of the laws of the game.
It is expected that this will now open the door for other teams ( ie Liverpool cough ) to demand replays of their effected games

fixture congestion makes that impossible in the premier league

They will have to accommodate them .. this has set a precedence with VAR

they can't accommodate them, and they will never happen in the premier league. The belgian league is a 3rd rate crap fest

It’s been reported that they have set a legal precedent.. the heavens have opened it just rests on whether the clubs involved want to go down that route .. for example an extra game may not suit Liverpool as they go for a quadruple.

The only way that rule will ever come to the Premier League is if one of the League Cup or FA Cup got scrapped, because there's fixture congestion for the players as it currently stands, adding to that isn't going to be good for them.

the ref said no penalty, so var agreed with him, so they had no effect on the game

VAR is completely pointless imho
Why didn’t they at least suggest he looked at the small screen replays given the seriousness of the decision

The Hull vs Blues match midweek will tell you that.
Hull literally got away with their own Hand Of God, and that's ignoring the myriad of fouls that the officiating team kept missing.

VAR is a disaster, it has not helped right wrongs, in fact it has probably created more wrongs so they should dispense with it.. Hard to understand how they get things so wrong but there is far more room for corruption with VAR than there is with just a ref and linespeople

no need to insult belgian football like that :idc:
Union St Gillis, Royal Antwerp and Westerlo's comeback at the highest level make it watchable for me personally
