[Stakeknife is linked to
the 'execution' of at least 18 people
and the kidnap and torture of many more,
but the Army has long defended his
activities on the basis that his intelligence
saved 180 lives. ]

[2003 Freddie Scappaticci,
better known by his codename Stakeknife,
headed the 'nutting squad' - the IRA's notorious
internal security unit.
He died in April 2023.]

Good on Freddie.

Good on Freddie.

Good thing he wasn't brainwashed, raped and kept as a breeding machine as a teenager. Then he'd have been rightly remembered as one of the UK's greatest ever villains and stripped of citizenship amirite?

Probably not I guess, he's neither female nor brown. Good on Freddie. What a champ.

Looks like someone needs to log off for a while and walk outside on some grass and take a few deep breaths.

SB it was tough days
we needed an inside man.

He saved over a hundred lives
that mattered, back then.

[Stakeknife was said to have provided a
goldmine of intelligence to the British,
including allowing them to
identify IRA members involved in the
kidnapping of wealthy
Irish supermarket magnate Ben Dunne in 1981,
as well as those who tried to abduct
Canadian business tycoon
Galen Weston in 1983.]

brave man amid blood thirsty criminal terrorists

He was one of them for several years and was turned informant out of pure self-interest and, by all accounts, remained an extremely bloodthirsty and brutally violent individual. He just got to do with a seal of approval.

But he was a big ol' aggressive white bloke so that will naturally also get the 2024 TiBB stamp of unquestioning approval. Good On Him.

I partially misread the title, and partially assumed it was an Arista Spelling for a special steak knife which had been used to kill 18+ terrorists :joker:

Allowed to do things by seal of approval was big back then.

Probably still goes on now in certain circles.
