I try to avoid breakfast TV now because the presenters ask the most stupid and time wasting of questions.
This was harder to watch because of Richard Madeley on it too.
He is absolutely ridiculous.
I have no time for Galloway at all but how he reacted to their stupid questioning was spot on.
I was left thinking of the despair to come in the forthcoming general election if the questioning rather than being about policies as it ought to be
Is handled in the way it is by presenters like Ms Reid and Madeley.
All it is, is a turn off.
They were going to have Starmer on later too.
I just didn't watch that because I'd guess there's be no questions on policy but the time taken up as Galloway's was, with more irrelevant questioning.
They're the same with Con MPs who come on too.
Labouring the points of scandals or divisions rather than getting deeper into policies and policymaking.
Susannah Reid can be absolutely vile, however Madeley is just a smug and arrogant presenter who to me is just one massive turn off.
Awful.

I've always found it. Strange. How. Galloway puts full stops. Where. They. Needn't. To be.

Unfortunately Joey, Politics in both the UK and US have become circus shows.

You are right on that.
I agree fully as to certain elements of it and at elections.
However, the world of our there campaigning as I've been doing these last weeks and will be exhausted doing these next 3 days :joker:
Is a world away from the media, TV, press portrayal of politics and electioneering.
Talking directly to people, is brilliant, yes sometimes you get insults for which Party you are campaigning for.
Although this time, I've had hardly any at all.
People are more favourable to Labour and the only message I'm getting is that voters more than usual, just want this government gone.
The threats of the Cons saying vote Reform get Starmer.
The former Con voters switching to Reform don't care about that, they no trust now in Sunak's Cons.
So aren't listening to him.
Plus too, just about everyone surely knows when Parties say we've no plans or no need to do something.
That means IF, and I stress IF, their plans don't work, they may have to.
The public are fed up of the media presenters asking that stupid question over and over.
Talking directly to people you get an entirely different and reasoned exchange of views, which is as it should be
Plus too the opinion polls, which are the candidates pushed onto us who we cannot even vote for, the pollsters.
I've yet to find ONE person who has been interviewed by any polling organisation.
I was at UNI but never since.
If these polls this time are really proved to be wrong, then I think they should be banned as it's more misleading than anything else.
Like yourself Mock, in another thread, you don't vote you said, thats along with a third, yes aTHIRD of people eligible yo vote.
If that doesn't say what's wrong with the Parties and politics generally, I don't know what else will.
That yourself and 10 million plus like you feel there's no one and nothing to vote for
That's shocking anyone feels like that due to the failure of those in politics who have failed so many
The media however has been absolutely awful presenting this election particularly.
It really has.
I'm glad I've been out talking to and with people.

Tbh I would imagine that canvassing is one of the best ways nowadays to escape the smoke and mirrors of how the Elections are presented nowadays in the Media, because you're catching people's real opinions unedited.
And the problem with TV Presenters when it comes to Political debates is that they can't keep their own personal feelings out of the discussion, so a lot of their questions end up feeling a bit leading in the answers that they want to hear.
And wow! A third of the country don't vote? I honestly thought that it would be less than that.

Nearly 34% of voters eligible to vote didn't in 2019.
The last election where even around 70% voted was 1997.
Absolutely Mock , you are one of multi millions who are so disappointed and disillusioned.

Like you've said, it just goes to show how uninspiring some of our more recent leaders have been.

Hello Kazanne :wavey:
Nice to hear from you
Oh Thursday, I'll be glad to get some rest.
I'd love to know how many miles I've walked these last few weeks.
Then I've got my Hols in Rome in a couple of weeks, so looking forward to that.
You'll probably see me moaning even more about a Labour government IF they win on Thursday, than I have on the Con ones.
My real hope is the sorting out of the NHS..
I'm putting a lot of my faith in that being done.
All good wishes to you Kazanne.
