View Full Version : Elecution

Isn't it about time that AJ Odudu took eleeeeeeecution lessions. as her verbal mumbling, stumbling, and slurring requires the ears of an aye aye, the patience of an elephant and compassion of a saint to voluntarily subject oneself to the mockery she makes of the skill of Hyde Park Corner orators.
It requres cosiderable effort not to throw my bust of the late and very deaf genius that was Ludwig van Beethoven at the tv screen when AJ starts murdering the English language. Compared to her, Best has the voice of an angel.

Yes it’s unbelievably annoying as well !!

I mentioned previously that I was dreading AJ interviewing Lauren as she’s as bad

I don’t hear a lisp at all

Sounds like she’s talking with a mouthful of Maltesers to be honest.. Lauren is the same though I suspect that’s due to all the lip filler

You are quite right: on the basis of one incorrectly positioned letter in one word I am exposed as a serial spelling blunderer, something that is unlikely to occur in your posts, defined, as they are by a parsimony of words, often verging on the monosyllabic and notable only for the complete absence of worthwhile content.

How dare a presenter have a working class accent. Bring back the BBC Accent, that what I say!!!

Thank you for the suggestion, but that would be wrong.
Unlike our politicians, I do not believe in rewriing history.
Let the words - right or wrong - speak for themselves.
But I do appreciate your suggestion.

Well just from this very post, I know that I'm not going to be able to spell monosyllabic without looking at your post for reference, so fair play.

And with AJ, I think that her and Will both doing the main show is going to make it hard for either one to standout.

The Show should put one of them on a spin-off Show imo.

What have we here? Someone on an approval-fishing expedition.
It's not primarily a question of regional accent (though that does not always help) but
a question of CLARITY.
Listen to her colleague, Will Best: every word is spoken with clarity and would remain clear even if he adopted a cockney accent.
Odudu's speech is lazy and, therefore, unpleasant to listen to. It takes determination to will oneself to lend her inelegant verbal outbursts an ear, never mind two.
Listening to Best, on the other hand, requires no effort at all. You could be multitasking in the kitchen but stil hear and understand every word he says.
There is too much wrong with Odudu's voice to dismiss objections to the absence of clarity as elitism.

Time flows in a linear fashion.
What was said 10 minutes ago is
in the past, and therefore history.

Having said that, in the far future
scientific advances may well change
our assessment of time and allow us
to perceive it as a non-linear phenomenon,
interacting with gravity, for example to a
greater extent than current scientific
speculation suggests,

At that point time travel would, perhaps, be
viable, in which case the term history would,
indeed, become obsolte.
All historical events would exists simultaneously.
Romans could invite Louis XIV to a party at
Stringfellows and the Pharaoh Khufu could
discuss power politics with John F Kennedy.

I mean do we really need two presenters? My advice to the producers would be to sack them both, and then hire one big one!

I posted last year (and, indeed, as a regular during the early series of BB) as HettyTheHarelip. I forgot the password I used last year in this forum, hence the change from my real name, HettyTheHarelip, to the regrettable nom de plume, HettyLip.

My advice would be to write your passwords down either in a Document, or on a piece of paper.

It means that whenever you want to come back on here for example, you can easily access your account.
