As was said last night.
You can have talent but if you've no ambition to use it then you virtually stay talented only.
If you couple it with ambition however then you can reach heights only maybe dreamed of.
So ambition really is the main driving force once you have a talent.

…yeah, there are so many talents out there, aren’t there…truly talented people in their art form and skills …but the ambition is one of the essential drives/drivers…there are other factors also, I would say but ambition is a huge thing…

Talent helps but look how many amazing amateur singers are unsigned on YouTube or busking on our streets .. then look at some of the ‘singers’ who are signed and famous despite an obvious lack of real talent
One name jumps to mind

Ambition for sure, obviously coupled with talent.
Often the most ambitious and talented combined succeed and become legends, look at Michael Jackson somebody who combines both talent and ambition. Talent without ambition isn’t another to have a long sustainable career
Taylor Swift in current times performing 44 songs in her set list and so is on stage for 3 hours each day compared to her peers who perform 20 songs on stage, another example of a hard worker being top of their game due to hard work and ambition.

a combination of ambition/talent, as well as a good salary i think
same in Germany with these reality tv game shows/competitions, also not very easy to cast a lot of high profile celebrities, usually just a few well known celebs combined with a mix of newer talent to give their careers a boost upwards
however in shows like Celebrity Ninja Warrior or Schlag den Besten (Battle of Champions) it is easy to sign some A-Lister past sports stars though whom still love a good physical challenge
in a olympic year, their RTL also has their own celebrity olympics like RTL Sommerspiele, where they do similar sports events as with the olympics but then with retired sportspeople and other celebrities
former footballer Thorsten Legat (Legatinator) for example, is an ace at synchronized diving or weightlifting
and weightlifting olympian, world champion and euro champion Matthias Steiner is good at almost anything :D
combined with amazing ''eurosport'' like commentary by Frank ''Buschi'' Buschmann makes it seem like the real olympics
but back on topic, yes you deffo need ambition and talent too to succeed in this entertainment world

It's a good thing to have ambition imo.
But ultimately, I do think that you have to have talent in the field that you're meant to be in, otherwise you have what's going on currently in TV Shows and the Music Charts.

I mostly agree Zizu.
However can't Kylie sing Classical songs live? I wouldn't call that lacking talent personally.

She only prospered on music due to her success in Neighbours though ..
Pete Waterman is on record saying that she was simply a perfect ‘vehicle’ for all of their hits
If we were being honest her voice was acceptable and that was 20 odd years ago but even then nobody would be turning around on an episode of The Voice ..

Even a good voice now will not result in success, look at talent shows/the voice/x factor. There hasn’t been a success story in over 10 years but all of them can sing well.
People now are more interested in hard workers, song writers, people who have creative control over the music they create. Look at Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift - neither of their voices would probably even make it through boot camp of a talent show on singing abilities alone. But hard work, writing your own music, touring for years on end is what builds up your support/success. So many artists who don’t tour end up plummeting..
Long are even the days of great singers smashing the charts, I.e. Whitney,Prince, Celine, Mariah Carey etc,, people need much more than a outstanding voice to succeed in the modern music business

Yes
One of the most successful ‘singers’ around is Ellie Goulding and her voice is very weak and with limited range info
