Norway has a really underrated song imo.
at least Norway is authentic, you cannot say that about Switzerland's non binary pink flamingo clown :fan:
also Gunnhild's vocals are on par with Floor Jansen's from Nightwish :clap2:

Interval acts for this second semi
In the Second Semi-Final, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the world's biggest sing along, together with three iconic Eurovision queens – Helena Paparizou (Greece 2005), Sertab Erener (Turkiye 2003) and Charlotte Perrelli (Sweden 1999, 2008).

01) Malta
if there is a song out there what could've been featured on the Burlesque movie soundtrack, it's this one, obviously also inspired by Chanel SloMo, the lovely Sarah brings a very charismatic, sexy performance, including some tricky dance moves and a actual loop with help by some hunky male dancers, will she got you on loo-o-o-p after this, maybe
02) Albania
the original was in Albanian, which won Festival I Kenges 62 titled Zemren N'Dore, now its called TiTan, this is a albania by the numbers generic english ballad, what we are used of them, their devamps, and that uptempo bit near the end, we don't know why that is even in there
03) Greece
Marina Satti is their answer to Rosália, she likes to fuse traditional greek sounds with other balkan or arab elements, Zari has a very infectious beat which easily makes us fall in love with the greek culture, without coming across dated at all, this could be a dark horse
04) Switzerland
whereas Ireland gets away with Bambie Thug's act, Nemo on the other hand is very undeservedly overhyped in the odds, they blend operatic music with rap and indie pop which comes across as a confusing mess of genres, and to relate to this song, you need to be non-binary, so i doubt many people will get what this song is about
05) Czechia
Tesco Avril Lavigne at a stretch, but with very weak vocals
also some Olivia Rodrigo - Good 4 You vibes
this is cesky rock, alternative rock, pop rock all blended in one song
you either love it, or you hate it, no inbetween here
AQ) France
Mon Amour is as french as you can have it, super cute love ballad, proper vocals, and Slimane has the support of french president Macron
another Voilá in the makings?
06) Austria
this is a dance banger for all ages, so here it is time for even the grannies to get up and join this 90s eurodance rave, fun fact this girl has been a stand in artist for Eleni Foureira in 2018 with ''Fuego'' and we deffo know she'll bring the fire for her rave party
07) Denmark
by the numbers radio friendly pop song, this seems like it could've been featured on one of the Dune films their soundtracks, playing with Sand, this refugee can sell sand very well
08) Armenia
this is 100% pure armenian, very ethnic, very feel good, very FIFA soundtrack vibe, non-competitive but that has its charm in multiple ways sometimes, and the singer Jaklin has the most likeable, loveable stage presence ever, and the french Louis Thomas is quite a multitalent as well
09) Latvia
Dons loves many power ballads, he is a huge fan of Queen, Mariah Carey, Bryan Adams, David Bowie
his song ''Hollow'' is a simplistic yet super solid pop ballad, fans of solid singing will definitely love this
fun fact Dons has tried to go to ESC 4 times before
AQ) Spain
visually wise this seems like spanish version of Roxette, but instead of pop-rock, a spanish synthpop one, the word ''Zorra'' means Vixen or 'Bitch so lucky they sing in spanish otherwise we would all understand this insult
it is a very uplifting catchy modern song, spanish answer to Dua Lipa maybe
10) San Marino
Megara tried out for Spain in 2023 with the song ''Arcadia'' they failed back then, now this year they went to San Marino's selection round with ''11:11'' and they were successful, their entry is a spanish break-up song, rock what Kenzy, Rober and other members call ''Fuchsia Rock'' the song has no doubt/gwen stefani vibes, the performance however has anime vibes, very dynamic, colourful and it has been produced by one of Spain producers last year for Blanca Paloma's Eaea
11) Georgia
spoiler alert for Mock, but this girl recently tried out for American Idol, with successes, she made it to the liveshows over there, now she represents her own nation, with a song composed by macedonian eurovision veteran Darko Dimitrov, firefighter, it is a sexy ethnic dance-pop bop in english, with georgian elements in the instrumentals
the dancers are italians, the performance is also choreographed by a sanremo veteran choreographer
12) Belgium
Wallonia's turn this year
how to describe this entry, it is a very Bond vibe type of power ballad, Mustii's performing style is sort of similar to how Freddie Mercury performed, vocally he is similar to Talk Talk or OMD
fun fact: Mustii is one of judges from Drag Race Belgique
13) Estonia
the song with the longest title in eurovision history i think, 5Miinuust are a popular hip hop group of today, quite a big name in the country, while Puuluup are two 50+ nu folk singers, the song is about them not knowing anything about these drugs, it is a very infectious crazy party bop with a very entertaining choreo
when two generations of young and old come together united by music (perfect for eurovision me thinks with our slogan)
AQ) Italy
La Noia means ''Boredom''
Angelina Mango, her father late producer Mango (whom composed for many famous italian artists among those Andrea Bocelli, Patty Pravo, Loredana Berté) and her mother is Laura Valente, lead vocalist of Matia Bazar a pop band
her song has nice summer vibes, caribbean vibes, all in all very uplifting and yes italy is once again in a contender position
14) Israel
very by the numbers empowering pop ballad, Eden definitely showcasing she has divine vocals, can hit high notes with such ease, one of the best ballads we've heard so far in eurovision history, and the hebrew at the end makes the whole thing complete, this is a contender
15) Norway
Fandom: We Want Nightwish in ESC
Norway be like: we have a sort of similar act to Nightwish over here, Gåte are a folk rock band who use medieval norwegian language for their songs, Ulveham which means ''Wolf Howl'' has a very anthemic feel as well to its instrumentals, and Gunnhild herself said about singing this song feels like giving birth to your child, well that must be one amazing child, Gunnhild is a vocal powerhouse similar to Floor Jansen
this is a definite dark horse for a surprise result
16) Netherlands
Brexiteers be triggered :fan: because this is a EU remain anthem, very clever to use other languages besides dutch too, such as english, german, italian, french, spanish, it also is very ethnic, the gabber/hardcore finale is a very typical dutch genre of the 00s composed by the brilliant dj Paul Elstak whom is known for this kind of sound
there also at the end is a emotional moment (the outro of the song) it is in dutch but is confirmed it will be subtitled on screen for translation purposes

I personally have missed the Satanic elements of the Entertainment Industry.
It's nice to have a few entries this year that don't seem to be appealing to either the CBBC crowd, or the bloody easily triggered crowd.

Armenia, Latvia and Greece, Really????
Crikey sets a worry for how the public vote may go on Saturday.
Really pleased Israel are through.
Would have been really wrong had Israel not.
Glad to see Estonia through too.
Overall it is a good strong contest this year however.

Disgusting that Ryland and Mills could say nothing after her performance for fear of getting hit up on X
pair of vile cowards
Yeah I noticed that, the lily livered cowards. :notimpressed: Best voice, best song from Israel.
Also loving Italy.

I'm happy that Norway went through, as I was worried that the Eurovision voters wouldn't really get the vibe that it's going for.
How the **** did Greece go through?:joker:
Switzerland were very good imo.
And I thought that Israel and Latvia's entries gave out good vocals.
And Estonia's entry made me laugh.:joker:
Not mad on Greece.
It doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
That Greek song was complete and utter garbage .. its not even a song
Sounds like a flamin backing track
The biggest cheer she got was when she danced with the female dancer with the three male dancers looking on .. yet this tuneless monstrosity is apparently better placed with the bookies than the UK entry

Denmark I need to hear again.
Not sure what I think of it.
Denmark was one of the best songs i felt .
She looked stunning but her voice wasn’t up to scratch .. she was flat - off key

Netherlands sounded like they’d taken bits of Barbie girl and bits of No No No No Limits

Israel had everything though not poppy enough to win this year imho

Absolute bollox
Denmark was easily the best song imho but didn’t even make it through
A few utter garbage songs went to the final

Oh well done Israel
Yes was NewsnightHD BBC2
they had a Protester in the studio
He dresses as a Lady
and would have a Massive Party normally
but is pulled out as he wants Israel removed?
Please Note: It is fine to dress as a lady,

I'm still stunned Greece got through.
Both Greece and Cyprus in so I guess their 10s or 12s will go to each other as usual.
I actually loved Estonia's.
I would love Olly to do well but I think any could win this time.
Just as any could be last too.
Who knows.
I'll just enjoy it all through.
Someone has to win someone has to be last.
In Eurovision terms, that has been in the past been a kind of topsy turvey land after the votes are all in.

When ‘songs’ ( I’m being generous calling it a song) like the Greece one get through and others like the fabulous Denmark one get dumped it just highlights that it’s NOT a SONG contest at all !!!!

It's definitely not now Zizu.
For a while now it's evolved into what the effects were as they performed as to others on the stage or lighting and other effects.
Now it's evolved into a more theatrical production of staging which is heading to be more the competitive element to the show now.
Denmark, I agree, was miles better than Greece but that's the crazy voting of the Eurovision viewing audience.
I was watching a dvd I have of Eurovision from 1956 to 2014.
It only shows snippets of the songs which finished in the top 3 over those years.
It is incredible how the contest is now unrecognisable from even up to 2014 from 1956.

Denmark wasn't good at all, and Greece is such a solid well produced very modern song and act
Denmark very basic and super generic, and a bad singer

either dortmund winning the champions league or themselves winning eurovision

Denmark was good and Greece were at best awful.
I'll stick with Zizu on that one.
No doubt Greece will get a likely 10 or 12 vote from Cyprus.
With Greece giving a 10 or 12 to Greece as is usual in their voting.
Immaterial of how awful the song is.

Greece were of MTV EMA performance standard honestly

Denmark wasn't good, they need to withdraw for one year to rethink their strategies in the contest i think, they kinda lost their mojo, although this was better than the tiktokker last year  Aura Dione however would've stood better chances at qualifying with her ''mirrorball of hope''

Olly will flop at juries because juries will immediately hear how weak his vocals are, and what a mediocre turd his song is, like a 3 yr old could've written that and as for the act, juries don't look at that
as for the televote, i feel the televoters won't buy this either, how plastic and over the top it is, compared to some real genuine very televote friendly crowdpleasers (Netherlands, Estonia, Italy, Greece, Armenia, Switzerland, Norway)

He’s got a fantastic voice but it is more difficult when you are jumping around thats why most resort to miming on chat shows
He also co-wrote the song and gets no credit for that equally important aspect

You're wasting your time Zizu but I admire your defence of someone who has done nothing wrong whatsoever.
Some just like to wind up unnecessarily.
There's nothing wrong with Olly.
His voice is really good.
As is the song.
The staging may not be to everyone's taste, just as other acts staging won't be to other people.
It's the staging he's been given, he'll do his very best.
Looking back over Eurovision as I did on that dvd I have
There's singers screaming their heads off and jumping round like they've fleas in their trousers or dresses.
Then you may not recall, a singer like Dana from Ireland, comes on sits down sang a gentle song like All Kinds of Everything and wins .
Another from Germany, Nicole, A Little Peace .
With many more examples too.
You don't have to have a booming voice or shout your head off to give a good performance.
I love Olly's voice, Years and Years would have been nothing without his voice and his presence.
His personality onstage too.
I love Fleetwood Mac, one of their songs 'Dreams' is one of my favourite.
I came across on YouTube with only a guitar and a few harmony singers well in the background in a radio studio.
Where Olly sits and sings Dreams .
It was sensitively done and beautiful.
Even the staff there clearly captivated.
I don't know if you've seen it obviously.
I wouldn't however bother with dealing with negativity to him from whatever is the real reason the negativity comes from.
People like all kinds of singers and music.
Which is liked by some and not by others.
However calling a singer vile just because for some reason known to themselves , is in my personal view utterly ridiculous.
I hope you enjoy Olly's performance like I certainly will tomorrow.
No matter his placing.
I've scratched my head at the UK being in the bottom section for years now.
Anything higher is a plus .
On that dvd I have, we once won with Lulu and to me an awful song Boom Bang a Bang of all things :joker:
It's the fun and crankiness of Eurovision where it can be the bottom of the table has the better performances.
The top half often leaving some wondering how most of them got that placing
