Broadcaster Eamonn Holmes and Loose Women star Ruth Langsford have announced they are going to divorce.

The pair, who previously presented This Morning together and have been together for more than a decade, confirmed the news to the Sun on Sunday.

A statement read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

…yeah it is always sad to hear, Annie…I rarely watched This Morning but I was reading that when they did present it…?…their ‘tensions and bickering’ were often very apparent on that, so maybe their relationship has had some difficulties for a very long time…and if that’s how it’s been, I can’t imagine how much more their ‘tensions and bickering’ would have been off screen if it was often noticed and felt on screen….so it's possibly more emotionally healthy for both of them to not be together…and for their families to feel their in a happier separation….

I find it hard to believe he was doing anyone, the industry is said to be shocked by the divorce, if he was a serial adulterer I doubt this would be the case, they have actually been together for 25 years .....she was with him for 10 years before the married

In news which sent shockwaves through the showbiz industry, it was announced on Saturday that the much-loved couple had decided to split up and are heading for the divorce courts. Fans were convinced something was amiss with the former This Morning stars for months, following reports of explosive rows and no photos of the pair together on social media.

Now, it's been reported, Belfast-born Eamonn, 64, had become "more and more grumpy" in recent years following his well-documented battle with chronic back pain.

Speaking about the star's ill health, a friend of the couple said: "Ruth has become more his carer than a wife. Eamonn has been thoroughly miserable."

From what she’s said over the years about the constant worry when he was out of sight .

I’d suggest it wasn’t his first rodeo ..

She warned him ages ago that it would be over if she caught him messing around and even went public with it .

You could also argue she had unfounded jealousy issues, jealousy is a horrible trait and if he was living under constant suspicion, that would not be very healthy, if he had had affairs then he managed to keep them very quiet which in the industry is unheard of .....ask Philip Schofield

Why are you so protective of him incidentally ?

We’ve seen them both on the telly for decades .. she has always presented as being open minded , big hearted and genuine whilst he is basically the exact opposite plus he’s even flirtatious on screen .
