I've finished listening to Chayce Beckham's Bad For Me Album.
I actually really liked it, I get that it's cool to not like Talent Show contestants Music, but I personally enjoyed I think every song off of the Album to some degree.
My top five songs off the Album were, in no particular order:
Mama
23
Devil I've Been
If I Had A Week
Drink You Off My Mind
It was a pleasant surprise how much I enjoyed Chayce's Album, as I didn't really expect that much going into it.
He can actually sing too, it's not just studio enhanced like a lot of artists today, plus it felt like the lyrics to a lot of these songs actually meant something to him, which makes me think that he must've wrote on some of these songs, which I always appreciate a good songwriter.
Anyway, what albums have you guys been listening to recently?

I've now listened to Evanescence's Fallen Album.
As I expected, I really liked the Album, and Amy Lee is a fantastic vocalist imo.
My favourite songs were:
Bring Me To Life
My Immortal
Going Under
Everybody's Fool
Tourniquet
Whisper
All of the songs were strong off of the Album though imo.

Re-listening to the whole Kendrick Lamar discography at the moment. Just an inspirational writer, and my goat hip-hop artist.

Good luck, hopefully you enjoy the concert.
And Slim, what would you say is the best Kendrick Lamar Album in your opinion?

I've just finished listening to Jessica Meuse - Halfhearted.
Again another strong Album, I'm landing very lucky with my picks so far.
I'm amazed that the Music industry doesn't push Jessica tbh, I mean she ticks a lot of their boxes.
- Attractive
- Can sing well live
- Songwriter
- Can play the Guitar
- And imo she comes across well whenever I've heard her speak
I'm assuming like with Chayce (amongst other Talent Show contestants) the Music industry is being elitist, and it takes extraordinary effort to break through (which Chayce is currently trying to do, and hopefully will do) and unfortunately Jessica just hasn't yet.
Imo the Halfhearted Album is strong, there's only one song that I personally found a bit forgettable if I'm being 100% honest, and that was I'll Find My Way, but maybe that will grow on me tbf as a lot of songs have done in the past.
My favourite songs off the Album were, in no particular order:
Brown-Eyed Devil
California Dream
Relapse
Thank God It Didn't Work
Novocain
Love Her Better
Halfhearted (yes, it's named after the Album)
Without You (ft. Bo Bice)
Ruin
God I named 9 songs.:joker:
All 9 are really strong songs in their own way though imo, and I know that it sounds like I'm being biased, but I'm genuinely not trying to be.

They want to be Pink Floyd so bad. Nice listen, though.

You beat me to it.. Floyd are one of my favourites of all time- I literally have the T-shirts ( 2)
There’s even a few Floyd riffs in that song :)

Great minds, zeez.
And yeah, I did notice he was using the same scales as the comfortably numb pulse solo in parts of his guitar playing.

that's why i've always liked them. They have been around for a long time

Sadly not … I am an amazing whistler though !
I can remember a piece of music ( even a symphony ) after just one listen -a completely useless talent- presumably courtesy of my autism ..

I've listened to The '59 Sound by The Gaslight Anthem.
It's a well made Album (especially if you're a die hard fan of Bruce Springsteen or early The Killers material,) and Brian Fallon is a really strong vocalist imo.
So all of the technical side of things is great imo.
However I did find myself getting bored after the first few songs, I think that they're all a bit too similar to each other, that I have kind of merged all of the songs together in my head.
For my own personal enjoyment, the Album ended up being about a 6/10 for me, I have tried to not do arbitrary scores on this thread, but this Album in my view is the poster child of what a 6/10 is to me.
It has it's moments, but nowhere near enough to break into the 7's or above in my view.

I listened to Metacritic and gave Charli XCX's Brat Album a try.
It's not really my kind of Music (in particular 360 and Girl, So Confusing really grated on my nerves lol.)
But I will say that I thought that there were still a few half-decent tracks on the Album for my personal taste.
They were:
Sympathy Is A Knife
Talk Talk
So I
I Think About It All The Time
The other songs just really didn't do it for me tbh.
Oh and I would say that Charli XCX has had the weakest vocals that I've heard so far from my Album binge.

I've just finished listening to Jake Bugg's self-titled debut Album.
Lazy Album title aside (because seriously dude, you name it after yourself lol) if only Jake Bugg was reading this part for real.
But without getting side tracked, this was a brilliant Album imo, it won't be for everyone, but for the people that will appreciate his more retro sound, he is really at the top of his class.
All of the songs had some level of quality to them in my view.
My absolute favourites off the Album:
Broken
Lightning Bolt
Seen It All
Country Song
Ballad Of Mr Jones
As I've said though, all of the songs are well made.
…I didn’t realise that we had a What Albums thread but this is the perfect place for an excellent recommended album…?….and as recommended to me by Shaun ….…Pulp’s 2025 album, More/is pretty sensational…some personal favourite tracks are The Hymn of the North, Background Noise, Slow Jam, Farmer’s Market and Got To Have Love…but the whole album is just pretty wow…...

Over the last week I've been alternating between tracks off of Weezer's Pinkerton, and Jethro Tull's The Broadsword and the Beast
