It's so Tommeh can be arrested again, then fund raise off it.

Doesn't really address his need to be arrested again though. I guarantee that any fans of Steven Yaxley-Lennon have already seen it anyway.

Kate they are not trying to hide what's going on. They are protecting them from gangs.

https://www.refugee-action.org.uk/reducing-digital-exclusion-for-refugees-and-people-seeking-asylum-in-the-uk/

People seeking asylum in the UK receive £5.84 per day, and this makes accessing affordable data challenging. As with access to Wi-Fi, this challenge is exacerbated because people seeking asylum are only given temporary, unstable accommodation, and struggle to get access to our formal banking system – any hope of accessing cheaper, SIM-only contracts is lost and they have to rely on the more expensive pay-as-you-go data plans.

Having a proper device and internet access is crucial in Refugees’ lives. With the support of his local library and community, Mohammad managed to get internet access for his house. “Now I can access the internet, contact my relatives, study, and apply for jobs.” Asylum seekers are locked out of the digital world, even when their well-being and mental health depends on it. The internet is often the only thing that can keep displaced people in touch with loved ones scattered by wars and persecution. They need to access information, and translation tools, keep in touch with family and friends and connect with local communities.

‘These days, all aspects of our life are digitised. For example, I must check my universal credit online. All reports and appointments are made digitally. A while ago, I noticed some suspicious transactions in my account. I reported both transactions, and the bank helped. Just imagine If I did not have my laptop, I properly would not be aware of fraudulent activities, and all my money would be gone.”

The state isn't providing these items, they are being provided by charities

They are not refugees

:laugh2:

So they aren't available for refugees, but they are giving them to standard migrants? Make your minds up.

I don't believe it's true. My understanding is that they have to provide access to basic services and facilities within these holding centres, and the phones are only equipped with phone calls. No internet or camera.

If you offered that to anyone else on benefits, it would be of absolutely no use, but because someone classed as an "other" is getting them, we think they're being given iphone 15's.

I blame the government for not sorting out illegal immigration but then I expect some of their mates are making a ton of money from hotels full to the brim? I also blame the government for not making it clear the UK does not recognise blasphemy laws, what has happened to that teacher in Batley is appalling, just stay in hiding, that seems to be the message, and then it breeds this discontent on the streets and gives people with nefarious intentions a platform

As for who Kates decides to vote for, that is for her and her alone to decide

Everyone is to blame, other than the people themselves.

Here's the problem; the way you combat RW extremism or even any political extremism is to provide for citizens.,

European governments realised this after WWII which is why there was a massive undertaking of socialist policies which introduced things like free education, the NHS, and the welfare state. As soon as governments started losing sight of this fact to woo corporate interests over civilian living standards, we put ourselves on the path to where we are now.

I think that's probably me. I made the post about you being at a rally, then Alf replied about it being today today, then Parm and I had a chat about tommy last night, so I would say that I'm to blame.

Unfortunately what's being lost in Politics is more moderate opinions.

I feel like the Media is encouraging the right and the left into going into extremes, which will lead to broken communities worldwide if our societies don't bother to try and course-correct, quickly.

I personally don't like children being brought into a group where violence could definitely break out.

But obviously children shouldn't be being taught to hate non-criminal communities either imo.

The extreme left are the main culprits behind all of the cancel culture stuff imo.

And the extreme right tend to be the more violent, especially if they can't get their own way on something.

I've seen the far right tbf make a couple of attempts at cancel culture.

1. Gary Lineker
And 2. Philip Schofield
3. Jeremy Corbyn

However I've seen the far left go for (love these people/franchises or not.)

1. Elon Musk
2. JK Rowling (including Hogwarts Legacy fgs, which wasn't even made by her.)
3. Donald Trump
4. Stellar Blade
5. Final Fantasy XVI
6. McDonald's
7. Starbucks
8. A bunch of YouTubers just for having a different opinion to them

Obviously this is the far right and far left, not what I would call the moderates on either side, that I just want to make clear.

If people cry that they're being cancelled, but maintain the exact same status as before, then they haven't been cancelled.

Cancelling corporations doesn't count. The right has a whole saying called "go woke, go broke" based on cancelling any business that appears the least bit progressive. Bud light ring any bells?

In short, I think cc does exist on a very small scale on both the left and right, and anyone crying about being cancelled is using it to boost their personal platforms, especially as most people seem to moan about being cancelled in newspapers, on TV, or to their millions of followers, which sort of downplays their own arguments.

How did I forget Bud Light? I agree with you on that one being another effort, and a ridiculous one at it.

Ultimately I think that cancel culture is worse for the regular joe person, because if say for example, I went for a job (me going for a job I know) but say I were to go for a job, and then my potential employers saw some of my posts on here or on Twitter, or YouTube, they could take a funny over me having a controversial opinion on a topic, even if I were the ideal candidate in every other way.

That to me is a problem that does exist imo.
