Genuinely quite concerning how he clearly doesn't really know what's going on or where he is. Is that just old age/possible dementia or is he on a load of meds? (or both)
Both he and Trump are in decline, it's obvious to anyone
Fox news are saying that Trump is too old and frail to be sent to prison, they don't seem to realise what they are actually saying
If you take politics out of it, i don't know how anyone can say that either of them is the best option for the job

The last thing you want to give an elderly man is a strong stimulant
It's more than likely at 82 years old he is on serious meds, Trump probably is too. Both of them have medical issues that present in different ways. What are the chances of either of them surviving through a 4 year presidency. It can't be much better than 50/50

Agreed it's getting silly at this point. Too frail to go to prison but not too frail for literally one of the highest pressure jobs in the world :umm2:. And Biden is flat out elderly at this point. People use this as evidence that the US should elect Trump but - ffs - people should be making their decisions on their political principles, not because one of the candidates is falling apart at the seams .

He's not (if we're talking purely age-related stuff), but he's certainly getting there, and will be the same age in 4 years time.
Anyone who tries to say that 2024 Trump is the same Trump that was taking the stage in 2016 is lying to themselves as much as they are to anyone else. He's significantly blunted in 8 years.
As people tend to when they are almost 80 years old.

Agree with everyone on here.
These two seniors who are suffering from some cognitive decline cannot do the highest-pressure job in the world. Whether the decline is enough for a diagnosis is another story but it's clear they both are not as sharp, and as on top of every situation as they used to be.
The president is supposed to have regular medical examinations so I'm puzzled as to how Biden is passing any type of mental capacity assessment.

Just to be controversial for a second.
But sometimes religious freedoms aren't always compatible with women's rights.

I really dont understand American politics at all surely there are better suited younger people for the job, and by younger I mean in their 60s or even early 70s, these two are just ridiculous, and I am not being ageist but dont think anyone should be holding that kind of power with the obvious decline in mental ability in both of them
…ouch, it looked as though it was a cardboard cutout of him and not the actual person…it’s strange that his speech itself is so poor and yet he wasn’t reading it or looking at any type of prompter so he obviously remembers it all in knowing what to say…but then doesn’t say it clearly…/…it’s just the speech thing itself…

Genuinely quite concerning how he clearly doesn't really know what's going on or where he is. Is that just old age/possible dementia or is he on a load of meds? (or both)
…I can’t see how it would/could be dementia when he appeared to be relating his speech without any prompting…he wasn’t looking down at any written prompts or looking into any specific place where an autocue type thing could have been…so I would presume that it was all stored in his head and memory etc…

Neither were forced on us in reality. We have primaries so there would have been other choices. It's just our esteem in the system is so low a meme president is a more interesting result than anything else the govt is currently doing. I think it symbolically represents that for some at least it is only a show in the end... or people want the system to fail for whatever reason.

The whole govt makes more sense to me if I think of it all as an AI project. Biden is the last presidential human president we will likely have, so maybe in secret he is being used as a source to create a final working model from. What we see on stage is the current test build.
Jokes aside (mostly), I wonder what the feeling towards Kamala is since she could technically take over. Can't be that good? Or, maybe the plan is he gets relected and Kamala ends up as our new show President, but I can't believe she would be that popular even within the party. But I guess if Congress is still able to do fek all, like it normally does, then what does it matter as long as there is no one who will veto.

The problem is that with Biden declining in front of everyone, it becomes a very real possibility that she has to take over running the country, so people will view her a lot more critically. The dems really have been responsible for their own fate deciding to go with Biden when they should have won this election easily

Realistically, Hillary should have won in 2016, but people preferred to go with a nutter rather than have a woman with a bit of baggage.
The good thing is that Trump is fundamentally very lazy, so his main reason for winning the election is to keep himself out of jail. If he gets that he is sorted, so while they may have plans to turn america into an authoritarian country, they won't succeed in 4 years

…one of the standout ironies there as well is that Trump inferred that Hilary was getting a bit long in the tooth/age wise as well…men don’t live as long as women but apparently they’re fitter for longer, we’ll try to work that one out…
…we never really thought that the number 1 perk of being the US president would be that they got to stay out of jail and the elected would need to employ that perk…nought so strange as real life…

Not really, all the counties in Northern Ireland are in Ulster, the most Northern Provence in Ireland but some of Ulster is part of the republic. Also, East and West exist too. I'm in southern Ireland because I'm in Cork/Munster not just because I'm in the Republic of Ireland.

Except for the fact Northern Ireland is actually called Northern Ireland but the Republic of Ireland is not called Southern Ireland, it's called the Republic of Ireland. When people in the UK say "Southern Ireland" they say it like that's the actual name of the country and it isn't.

Getting old is not for the squeamish, so i have every sympathy for what they are experiencing. What i have zero sympathy for is that it is their own personal choice to railroad themselves through the system to compete for the top job, where peoples lives depend on them to get things right. There are far better candidates available from both parties
