Security in prison is a big fat joke. Remember the disgusting Stephen Lawrence killer who had a phone and was bragging and taking selfies online. Our criminal system Is beyond amateurish & pathetic.

Having visited someone in prison the security for visiting someone was very good at the prison I went to

Sniffer dogs for phones and drugs
Shoes and bags checked

Those visitors going to see higher grade prisoners had to have their mouths checked

I was also asked to turn my polo shirt collar down as it could be viewed as signal to other inmates

Also just to add ,I remember watching something where a retired prison officer who'd been doing the job forever basically confirmed that prison guards these days don't seem to have the skills or right attitude . He said 1 screw was asking the prisoners themselves " what do I do " :facepalm: .

So another problem seems to be lack of experience & training etc, aswell as the corruption. Similar issue with cops .
