Capice? Do you spend many of your Saturdays basked out with a book/laptop/your thoughts in Caffè Nero, Costa and/or independent cafes (alike) or are you not big on solo coffee-shop dates?

I don't get much time to go.out on my own now but I used to when I was single. I've never been one for coffee shops but I'd go to the theatre or cinema on my own, I've been on holiday alone, Transylvania, right across North Africa, the USA...I enjoy my own company.

It’s just the same as having a quiet drink in the pub. I’m sure you’ve got time for that.

Nothing worse than seeing some twat in a coffee on a laptop that’s clearly been there for several hours
It’s not a bloody office and you look ridiculous

Saying that thankfully I don’t go to coffee shops really anymore

That’s kinda the point of going to coffee shops solo, though, Mock. You’re there to socialise less than get on with work, reading, people-watching or just contently mulling things over, over a caramel macchiato while soaking in the vibes. You don’t have socialising in mind when you’re wining or dining solo, and like I said it doesn’t have to be a coffee-shop. Could be a bar, restaurant, pub or even beach. Anywhere where there’s people but you also have the option of minding your business and not talking to anyone besides the person serving you.

Fair point.

I do think that I wouldn't be able to resist pulling off a Porn prank at a Coffee shop though.:joker:

Whip the Laptop out, and test people's reactions.

Someone once tole me that the best way to make a cuppa (tea) is to leave the kettle after it’s boiled for about 4 to 5 minutes, then add your bits and obviously let the tea-bag brew some (that bit’s fairly standard if you like to savour your flavour). My own after-inference would be to top it up with a dash of re-boiler water and microwave it for half a minute so no-one can turn ’round and accuse you of making a cold cuppa but the point is, has anyone-else on here actually tried this method?

Hey, don’t be so quick to knock it. Some people microwave ice cream.
