Starring Brad Pitt. In cinemas Summer 2025. https://apple.co/F1_
Racing legend Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) is coaxed out of retirement to lead a struggling Formula 1 team—and mentor a young hotshot driver (Damson Idris)—while chasing one more chance at glory. The feature has been shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport. The star-studded cast also includes Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award nominee Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Shea Whigham, Sarah Niles and Samson Kayo.
Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”) directs and produces the feature alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner for Plan B Entertainment; and Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner. The film is made in collaboration with Formula 1® and the F1® community, including the 10 F1® teams and their drivers, the FIA and race promoters. Copper CEO Penni Thow serves as executive producer.

Sounds like a movie I will avoid like the plague
That said I hare sports related movies
Seems pointless when you can just watch the actual sport

…(…kind of wishing that it wasn’t a Brad Pitt starring movie…)…loving the We Will Rock You track, though……

I'm on the edge of my seat at such a thrilling idea.
At least it's not another Superhero Movie, and I say that as someone that likes the Superhero genre.

kinda wish it wasn't co-produced by Lewis Hamilton :notimpressed:
but other than that, could be good

They probably wanted his name for credibility issues plus he will obviously be able give them some fabulous insight ..
I can’t abide him myself

Brad Pitt is older than most F1 drivers, and there hasn't been a successful American in the sport for a long time.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid, he's around 20 years older than the oldest driver and Fernando is considered old for an active driver
…is Brad Pitt part of the production company involved as well, then…or…?…
…I’ll possibly watch it, it’s not a bad trailer at all…I’m just not a Brad Pitt fan/whatever his age and would have preferred he wasn’t in a starring role…

…isn’t it funny how some behaviours can cause even the biggest names to ‘fall from Grace’ and prevent them from getting significant roles…/…and yet other behaviours barely raise an eyebrow in terms of working roles…

Well, if you ever had a read through youtube comments most people seem to think Angelina and all her children are wrong and liars........the excuses people will make for a good looking male celebrity eh?

There aren't really any young movie stars these days who are huge names - like it was in the past, so I see from that perspective why he was cast.

…I haven’t read any of the comments recently but I recall so many criticisms of Jennifer Anniston when he was unfaithful to their marriage with Angelina…

Ryan Reynolds is equally popular and is 13 years younger

Yeah, people saying Jennifer might have been a bitch and deserved to be left/cheated on. Now he's separated from Angelina she's the bitch and Jennifer was nice all along.

Or Ryan Gosling, he's another 4 years off that
…for me, Liam Hemsworth looks a bit like a younger Brad, anyway…
….Ryan Reynolds has to be one of the most annoying actors to watch…ever…I struggle to watch any role he plays because they’re all identical and identically irritating…

 I really like him but I find him hilarious, he does just pretty much play himself in every movie though

Oh I know, it doesn't bother me because I like him a lot. I do think Ryan Gosling is a more versatile actor though, in the battle of the Ryans. You probably haven't watched the Barbie movie but he was so funny in that, stole the show really

There's a new Deadpool coming out, but I didn't like the first one that much and didn't see the second one.
His Welcome to Wrexham documentary show is pretty good though.

…tbf, I did once find Jim Carrey irritating as well with his lighter roles but I love the blend of dark and light with the many characters he’s played …and maybe I’ll grow to appreciate Ryan more with more serious roles, also…?…and once I stop finding him so irritating…:fan:…

…I probably thought it was ok tbh…I can’t recall many specifics about it but I generally like hero origin stories and that was possibly one of the first times that I was familiar with Ryan Reynolds…so the irritation hadn’t set in yet with his monotonous characters…:fan:…

Hollywood could always take a chance on someone? Like Marvel did when they hired Chris Hemsworth from Home & Away, back in the day.

One of the two oldest Stark brothers from Game Of Thrones maybe.
Richard Madden or Kit Harington

These types of movies don't interest me, I'm not a Brad Pitt fan either .... Curious Case Of Benjamin is probably one of his best movies, I don't watch many of his movies.
I saw Fight Club & Jesse James which were ok.
But yeah he's a very overrated actor.
Seven was underwhelming & I don't think I've ever sat through Meet Joe Black .

Se7en was excellent. Even though it also has Kevin sleazeball Spacey, he is an incredible actor though
Oh Thelma and Louise was amazing too (even though I wouldn't consider that a Brad Pitt movie per se, his is only a small part in it, same with True Romance but Brad Pitt was pretty funny in that and he was great in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen seven but Brad Pitt's reaction/ acting alone at the end was laughable in a bad way.
I found the idea of the movie interesting, but It felt very meh  .
Yeah I wouldn't really class Thelma & Louise as a Pitt movie ... He's only in it briefly Lol . But I'll admit I've never sat and watched it fully , only seen clips.
Again I've never watched the once in Hollywood thing , maybe I should .

I do think Brad's acting has massively improved over the years actually, Se7en was the 90's (94/95 I think) he's definitely better in his later movies, you're right his acting wasn't great in Se7en but Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman were great in it.
You should definitely put Thelma & Louise on your list of films to watch, it's so good!

Freeman & Spacey have always delivered....I agree.
Yeah I can appreciate actors can develop over the years in their skills, but Pitt is just not my favourite. Same with Ben Affleck & Robert Patterson, never understood how they both got picked as Batman....both are extremely boring :conf:.
Yeah I'll have to check out Thelma and Louise, it's one of those movies I keep saying I should watch:wavey: .

Neither are very like-able I think or come across that way anyhow, I don't really have any opinion on them as people, they come across kind of arrogant and cold or something. I used to feel similar about Jamie Foxx and Denzel Washington just from watching them in films but they're both so like able in interviews just being themselves that I like them on screen now too

…awwww, I loved the story of Benjamin Button…..and I have to say that aim loved Se7en as well…Fight Club is a movie that I haven’t actually ever seen, strangely…it’s just never appealed to me…

…I think that maybe explains it for me with Brad…I don’t mind him as a part of a cast but he’s just not a ‘lead’ actor for me…like with the Oceans 11 type movie when there are multiple big names, he’s fine for me as one of those names…but not as a solo starring role…

I went to see it. The racing scenes are really impressive, with the music, sound and visuals.
The film is long at 2 and a half hours. Sometimes I felt it.
In terms of the realism it's not too bad. All the real-life drivers are in it although I don't think any of them get any speaking lines.. Some of the team principles get a few lines. The bit which stretched credibility was when Brad Pitt started using tactics on track that reminded me when Nelson Piquet Jr crashed deliberately to help the team at the Singapore Grand Prix. In real life that would cause a massive controversy and he'd be getting banned etc.
There is a commentary during races by David Croft and Martin Brundle from Sky. They basically explain what is going on for people who have never watched the sport before - eg. the first time is an explanation of the formation lap. I thought there was a way they could have explained stuff and made it sound more natural.
Also qualifying is completely ignored which I thought was a bit of an odd choice.
