Yeah he obviously needs to be far more professional than this.
I understand that the Rioters were wrong for what they did, but a Labour Councillor needs to conduct themselves much better.
It's like the Police Officer that kicked that guy's head in at the Manchester Airport, his violent outburst was worse than the guy that he was kicking's violence, due to the fact that an Officer of the law needs to be calm in heated situations, and the same applies here with the Labour guy.

Absolutely shameful and he is now completely and rightly disgraced.
In my view, it's definitely criminal and words have consequences too.
He could and should get custodial for this.
No excuse for him at all.

yes, even if you mean it in a metaphorical way, you cannot say this out in public like that, especially not against easily triggered protester thugs, very dangerous to say stuff like this
same with Thierry Baudet in my nation, whom also keeps shouting his pro-russian opinions in public, as well as becoming more nationalistic against the EU, something our PM Schoof put him in his place for in our parliament
…I wasn’t familiar with him before this, what a shameful thing to become ‘most well known for’…its also quite saddening of anyone to applaud what he said also, let alone a crowd to applaud his hateful and incite-ful words….

Yes tells you alot about some Labour Supporters
Yes tells you alot about some Labour Supporters
…what it tells you about is people and their actions …the ‘left/right game’ is just a silly divisive game, imo…’it says a lot about some Labour supporters…’…no, everything it says, it says about him as an individual…

I agree wholeheartedly.
I'm also very pleased you said SOME and not ALL.
Thank you for that element of fairness.
We have our concerning and undesirable supporters just like every Party has.
Plus I agree too, this guy must be thrown out the Party full stop.

The while crowd applauded him
Can you imagine if that was a reform crowd with Nigel Farage . Hopefully people with any sense now realise whatever your politics ..... inciting violence and actually saying to a crowd of very heated individuals " cut their throats" , is probably the dumbest thing you can say.

He's been arrested? That's impossible, we have two-tier policing designed to avoid this sort of thing. I refuse to believe it.

We will await his punishment before we judge on that.

that wouldn't be anything for those posh clowns to say such nasty things though
they more look down on the common folk instead
i dare to even think if Reform were in power, they would raise taxes for working class people and lower taxes for upper and upper middle class people
(i mean Farage is 110% Pro-Trump so i reckon his views are more or less the same as well)

We will await his punishment before we judge on that.
That would be a two-tier court justice system Parmy and nothing at all to do with policing.
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who investigate crime... and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.
CLUNK CLUNK

You don't have to state the obvious thanks.
Has he been charged yet, @fasttrackrightwingonly.

They have Charged him
Ricky Jones: Suspended Labour councillor charged with encouraging violent disorder…
A suspended Labour councillor has been charged with encouraging violent disorder.
Ricky Jones, 57, was filmed addressing a crowd at a London demonstration on Wednesday evening, during which he "appeared to make remarks and a gesture to encourage others to act violently towards far-right protestors", the Crown Prosecution Service said.
Jaswant Narwal, chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, said: "He has been arrested and charged within 48 hours, and will now appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court this afternoon, 9 August.
"We remind all concerned that criminal proceedings are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.
"It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."
Jones, who is a councillor in Dartford, Kent, was suspended by the Labour Party after he was arrested on Thursday.

Labour Councillor charged with
encouraging violent disorder
[Mr Jones, 57, appeared at Westminster Magistrates'
Court on Friday. BBC reporter Lucy Grey
said no indication of a plea was given.
Deputy senior district judge Tan Ikram said:
“It is alleged that using a microphone you
addressed a crowd at an anti-fascist protest
and, talking about others you described as
‘disgusting Nazi fascists’, you said
‘we need to cut their throats and get rid of them’.]
[The case was adjourned for a pre-trial
preparation hearing on Friday 6 September.]

Apparently, yes.
Hes got off lightly. He was encouraging a little bit more than simple violence.

Worse than the people encouraging and celebrating setting hotels on fire?
I'm not talking about those actually doing these things - of course that's more serious. But there were plenty on the various socials in full support of arson. I'd say that's as serious as this?

As far as I could see it was a bin that was set on fire, to set a hotel ablaze with people inside it would of course be horrific.
