What the Hell,
were you doing being so nice back then?

[Sir Ian McKellen has been called to return
his knighthood after her accused the
late Queen of being 'rude' and 'quite mad.'

The veteran actor made the remarks during
a recent newspaper interview.
Sir Ian said: 'The Queen, I'm sure she was
quite mad at the end.
And on the few occasions I met her
she was quite rude.'

Now his comments have received criticism
from confidants close to Queen Elizabeth II
who have even gone as far to suggest
the actor should his knighthood.]

He was probably aiming to get likes on Twitter.

Bit sad at his age if that was the goal.

Well it just feels really random for him to say this otherwise imo.

No not random
he fell off the stage, badly
the other week.

Some said he should stop doing that kind of work
at his grand old age.

He came back shouting he would carry on with his work.

This Outburst is Not Random

But what's that got to do with his opinion of Elizabeth?

is he not allowed to have an opinion without giving an honour back?

Maybe he banged his head when he fell of that stage. Or maybe he's just a rude, silly old luvvie. Highly disingenuous to slag off the late queen but hang on to the honour.

He's got to the age when he doesn't give a pluck about anything much these days.

I'm starting to get like that even now! :p

But yeah, Mckellen probably thinks, pluck it, I'll say wot I think! Or always thought. ;)

I don't think Charles will give two hoots. His skin is as thick as a rhino. :p

Interesting that he had nothing to say when she was alive, and he still has his gong....just looking for attention I guess

The queen was very unpleasant to some people, some of the things she said and did to Diana were unforgivable. The honours come from the government, not royalty, so there is no reason to hand it back. Royalty are not something special

I never heard anyone say the queen was rude until after she died.

This.

He's perfectly entitled to express his opinion.

It’s all about free speech until someone says something negative about the lizard people, then it’s all about punishing people who dare have an opinion

Nothing but respect for the legendary Sir Ian Mckellen. I trust his personal experience with rude Liz.

More are saying McKellen is rude.

Former Sky News Stephen Dixon did
this morning as he was presenting
on GBnewsHD.

He said years back he and McKellen
were co-presenting an award show.
Stating that McKellen was very rude.

Don't you find that actors of his status sometimes think they're a rule unto themselves? I think he's been reading his own publicity... I mean, I like him as an actor but suspect he's insufferable if you met him.

Imagine taking offence at a 80 + yr old asking if people still go to the theatre.
Sir Ian says he found the interaction 'bloody rude.'
He added: 'It meant, "Does anyone care a ******* about you because I don’t. Now off you go!”’
……
The Queen had to think of something to say to dozens of the recipients that day. What an interpretation to put on an innocent remark.
Those drama queen luvvies and their massive ego’s.

BTW, he also said that Prince Harry 'was probably not bright enough' to help himself and to have navigated an entire life as a working royal.

i would put that down to just being a character. Think of all the things prince Philip used to say
