Err washing feet? Your feet are washed by being in a shower or bath, what else should you be doing?

You should be actually scrubbing and washing them , just standing in the shower and letting the water touch your feet ... isn't getting them clean properly, bacteria and everything is still there.

Ditto. And I come from the Kim-and-Aggie school of clean.

Hate to break it to you but the average male certainly doesn’t wash their feet.

Imagine using a mix of Lynx shower-gel, tea-tree-and-lemon essential-oil-infused shower-gel and pine Dr Squatch that will surely touch your feet and still being worried about washing your feet and insides of your toes. Come on. Who does that? Who’s got that much spare energy first thing in the morning?

 Well single or not..... excellent hygiene should still be the focus surely . But i guess when some people are in relationships... they might make more of an effort than usual.

…the things we get asked on TiBB……I personally do is my answer but I’m reading this atm and this is the take from dermatology point of view/or a dermatologist point of view…I’m sure that they vary as well…

‘dermatologists agree that you don’t need to wash your legs regularly unless you’re getting dirty or overly sweaty, such as after an intense run or cycling class. On most days, they say you can wash your body and let the soapy water drip down your legs and rinse without actually washing them. The rationale behind this is your legs have a protective layer of natural oil so they don’t need to be cleaned every day.

“Areas like your legs don’t necessarily require daily washing, but you always should cleanse the skin if there is any visible soiling,”

The bottom line

‘Your legs don’t need the same daily washing that other parts of your body do, such as your armpits, but it’s important to make sure they’re clean if they’ve gotten really dirty or sweaty. For the average person, the drip-down method (letting soapy water drip down your leg) is enough but we don’t expect this debate over hygiene to go away anytime soon.’

…so yeah, interesting topics that might have some legs for discussion as some skin specialists obviously think that humans can be an over washing species…

I’d rest on that more-so than judgemental pieties from the general public. There is no reason to be washing the insides of your toes twice a day unless you have an infection or you sweat between them that much.

No offence mock but that way of thinking is just stupid

Men in general want to touch the bits they like but not the bits that take them from being an average man to a special man

I really feel sorry for women these days because men are a waste of space

Tbh I remember being a weird kid around feet (plus I also liked to drink the water from the swimming pool) for some reason I have developed a bit of a mini phobia to the weird things that kid me did like/get fascinated by.:joker:

I look forward coming to TiBB to seeing these insights.

I do clean, but it's not as easy since having a C-section. Shaving was not comfortable at all afterwards (because of the bending at the incision), to a surprising extent, and so I was more prone to cutting myself. They did a wonderful job, but it still isn't pleasant, sadly. If I had known I would be impacted, I would've done some yoga, skin cream, something to prevent it because it is a nuisance. Of course I can still bend over and lift and move things around but it's definitely not a position I like to stay in for very long. I can still feel the depth of the cut I guess because the nerves are still damaged.

I will turn on a tap to clean feet or shower out of instinct during the day if feet/etc get sweaty from either doing DIY in the garage or mowing the lawn. But particularly, I hate when any kind of soot is left under the nails. I try to keep it clean. I live in a hot and humid climate, and in the winter, typically more humid while wearing layers. You can feel the humidity between your toes in winter socks if you live where I live  ... depending on the day.

It's understandable it would be difficult if you've had surgery or undergone that. It's not good to strain your body if it hurts. I think those foot scrubbers.... look very useful, where you just put your foot in it and brush it along as you stand.

If you don't mind me asking ,is your shower disability friendly. Those walk in showers with the chair and bench & railing look like they'd make things easier.

Of course I do, and I thoroughly dry them.

I also wash my hoop by inserting half a soapy finger up it every morning.

Yeah I have a sizable walk in shower because the previous owners preferred that to a second bathroom, for some reason. I've considered that in the past and I may actually get a stool because it hasn't gotten better. To be fair, I don't spend as much time in the shower these days with a very active toddler
