[Disabled BBC journalist is forced to crawl from
the toilet to his seat after Polish airline refuses
to let him have his wheelchair on board]
Mr Gardner, 63, posted about the ordeal on X,
formerly Twitter, to his 125,000 followers - then spoke
on BBC Breakfast this morning about what he called
the airline's 'inhumane' approach, as he urged
them to 'sort it out'.]

Quite disgusting. Is it too much to ask that disabled people can retain their dignity?

Undoubtably, and saw a great opportunity to cause a stink.

This is why people call you a troll.
It’s not right disabled people have to crawl to the bathroom and not get help. I know wheelchairs are too big for the aisles but at least have something that can take them to, and back, from the bathroom to seat

Yeah cos he enjoyed the humiliating experience of having to crawl to the loo did he? Ridiculous comment.

I’m sorry but I refuse to go along with this mans victim complex.
He one of the lucky ones.
How many people with conditions like his around the world have access to a wheel chairs at all? 20% max probably.
What does he do to help them? Or does he just complain about his own minor inconveniences?

He's in a unique position to highlight this. I'd like to say for User's benefit, any one of us could become disabled at anytime. If ever it was you, I reckon you'd want life to be a little more accessible.

Maybe we should be grateful they let him into the toilet. They could have insisted he did his business seated with his trousers still on and him pay for the cleaning of the seat. Nothing surprises me today.

This world is so messed up , they really stood by and let a disabled man crawl to his seat without any assistance :umm2: .
People who are disabled either by birth or some disease/ condition or terrible accident... should get the help they need.
Makes it even more ridiculous ,when fat activists have the nerve to moan about a plane aisle not being wide enough for them. When a literal disabled person...is forced to struggle on his back or stomach, like really talk about priorities.

You are spewing shite. It’s not his fault and he IS the victim here

Someone would have offered help, he saw an opportunity to highlight a problem, and rightly so. So I'm not feeling sorry for him. Plus he works for the bbc.
And the bbc should have had this sorted for him. They would have paid, and should have checked. If I were him I would sue my bosses.

Oh those extremely fat people are ridiculous imo.
Obviously this guy needed someone to assist him to the Toilet at the very least, what is honestly wrong with this airline that couldn't see that?
