Seeing it from her point of view, she may have been trying to stick her tongue in cheek and roast him, with no harm intended.

From his point of view he has been labelled fake by Ali, Lily and Nathan - not sure if he is aware of the latter two - called out by Emma (someone else he was close to) for looking in the mirror, and now labelled as superior and self-absorbed by a friend in front of group of people, some of whom have real doubts about his character.

If he is being over-sensitive - I personally don't think he is but fair enough - then I can see why.

I don't think she meant it the way Ali called him fake, like in an accusatory way. And I think all said and done, of the people who would issue blunt advice to him, she's one of the better people to do it and I like that she just says it how it is...

Yes, I'm willing to accept that Sarah thought Khaled would take it with a pinch of salt and was surprised when he didn't. But I'm willing to accept that Khaled had a valid reason not to take it with a pinch of salt either, so it's almost six of one, half-a-dozen of another. Perhaps it can be explained as a massive misunderstanding between how it was given and how it was received. For me, the ivory tower/peasants line was the issue - as I said, particularly as, according to Sarah, Khaled's always been there for her when she's upset, so he must come down from it sometimes.

…I guess it’s just one of those things that it’s hard to entirely relate to ‘real life’ or life outside the house in terms of friendships etc and how those friendships communicate …the BB house must be a weird fish situation in that the friendships in there only exist because of the ‘game’ and the game sometimes requires tasks which have elements of things that may inject negativity …and the task not always allowing or giving to choose the most sensitive and kindest wording, you know…

On the backdoor question, is it any wonder the housemates break so many rules? I presume this one was BB led so it's fine to expose nomination intentions when it suits the producers. Sarah wasn’t aware it was her that upset him though until he asked for space, which she seems to have then given him. I think she’s then assumed he’s really upset at her which in turn has upset her. :laugh:

He's not the harshest of critics himself, and ironically that made him not friends with some :laugh: ... so he may recoil at criticism easily enough it's not real pleasant for him to be the deliverer of bad news either since he hates that feeling. So he prefers a more 1-on-1 way of doing things to having it blasted it out across the house... It’s also not happening in a vacuum - the housemates have been constantly making little digs at him and I imagine this is just the final straw. The fact that it’s coming from Sarah probably means it hurts more, since they seem quite close. He looked taken aback like ‘I didn’t know you thought of me that way’.

Also the ‘in your ivory tower’ comment feels in very poor taste to say to a refugee whose homeland is undergoing a genocide. I know that might sound like I’m reading into it too much, but they all treat Khaled like he’s immensely privileged, which ignores the quite significant ways in which he’s not. Combine that with Nathan’s comment about how often he speaks about Palestine/Lebanon, and I think this could be another reason the comment rubbed him the wrong way. Yeah he said that he likes to take the time to process his emotions before acting, because he doesn’t want to be too emotionally reactive and knows that he’ll feel differently given time. I think a lot of us are like that, no? It’s pretty normal to say ‘actually I need some space before talking this through’, and if anything I think it shows more maturity to be able to acknowledge and express that, as opposed to a) going along with what others want when you’re not comfortable, and b) flying off the handle because you’re in a too emotional place to have a respectful conversation with the other person

I wish I had kept quiet and just waited for you to post this! Though we only have the sneak peak and press preview which lacks a degree of context. If Sarah approached others like she approached Khaled - particularly those she is close to - it could be said he is taking it more personally than he should. Certainly I do think there's a difference, in the clip, from what she said about Emma to what she said about Khaled.

Yeah it's getting weird... clearly some of the panel on L& L just want to blame Khaled :rolleyes: , it was quite obvious Ali kept staring at Lily ...as Lily wouldn't go away and kept watching them. Emma's fake fall was too much,and she got way too much attention...which caused everyone to crowd her and follow her into the house . Khaled was leaning on the banister,as he didn't know what to do.

…that was weird, I was just about to post that…I mean, what relevance really/what BP’s parents might think of Nathan because I’d assume they’re grown ups and would get to know him first, rather than judge him on political leanings…and if BP voiced concerns herself and she was the initiating the conversation, then Ali surely as a psychology person, would be saying exactly that…don’t worry/don’t think about it etc…it doesn’t have to be a problem, type thing…but it felt that Ali was leading the conversation and her facial expressions were ones of doubt and almost instilling worries into BP…/weird…

If everyone just voted Hanah (the non Ali voters i mean) then Hanah would win. The spilt vote is the issue here.

All 5 votes need to go on just ONE HM. Ali's fans will give her all 5. And Emma, Marcello and/Hanah fans need to just commit to ONE HM and give them all 5 votes. If enough people go in the same direction, Ali will be in trouble. I just don''t think enough will do.

Yeah all my votes are going on Hanah. I like Emma, not arsed for Marcello, but Hanah is just so much better than all of them. If it was closer i might be more inclined to vote tactically, but as it stands, i think we should all just go balls to wall for Hanah and hope for the best, as unlikely as that is.
