I'm in-between average and a bit thick  A bit phallic there, I know... it's mostly early life experience gained from looking after my mother who has intellectual and emotional challenges. Plus dealing with the ill treatment towards her directly from other people regarding her emotional and physical disabilities. I learned to stop giving a sh** from a young age so that I could turn the tables at any given moment and step in. I could go 0 to 10 very quickly and it really did involve needing to deliver harsh verbal whoppings to people who liked to pretend to be thick, but clearly weren't, just even getting basic errands done on her behalf... a common theme of behavior towards the disabled... (I hold a lifetime pass to that theme park now)

While I have more experience now which means I question "the basic questions" less, hormones and life situations touch me much more than they used to also since giving birth, so it's kind of balanced out with age where I'm more or less the same as I'd always been. I'd rather not be completely thick and I do worry about becoming ignorant ...

I'm thick skinned when it comes to me really. I mean I feel things but if people piss me off, I am pretty good at shrugging it off. If people don't treat my love ones well, I am more sensitive to that and worry for their feelings (and have a tendency to react far more than if someone did the same thing to me).

To be fair I'm only thick-skinned about myself, if someone starts on wife or kids I'm a proppa snowflake.
