To the gays of TiBB!

How long has it been since you came out?

It’s been about 11 years since I first came out. It’s been 7 years since I came out to my parents.

I regret coming out so young. Society treats you much better when you're perceived as being straight.

I can't remember "officially" coming out - I wasn't really in a Glass Closet or anything, but it seems like it went from only me knowing, to everyone knowing. But it was somewhere in mid secondary school.

I suppose it didn't leave much impression in my memory was because there wasn't much reaction, no-one cares

I don’t know how to come out. I’m technically a gay asexual so it’s a strange one to come out as lol

Tell people you're a "Side", manage dating expectations from the off? See if there are any asexual dating sites?

Edit - you didn't ask for dating advice, oop! :joker:

lol no, I don’t think I’d be into dating though, like I’m happy being single and if I add someone to that I just think it would be messy

I'm on the ace spectrum too but I never really talk about it off the internet, people don't understand but I'm just happy I understand myself because I didn't for years.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking, they wouldn’t understand. I mean my friends know but they are my age. Might be different from an older persons understanding

I think it depends on your environment. I can honestly say that hasn't been my experience. Of course you get the occasional dickhead, but overall I would say most people have largely been positive when they find out I'm gay and it's quite rare that I encounter someone being homophobic towards me.

…but then, would it be good to give them that opportunity of showing their understanding/beginning it…obviously it’s all completely your call and judgement, Barry because you know your family circle more than anyone…

Nobody needs to know the full details, unless you want them to. When you’re ready to share with the world
you will. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself feeling like you must tell everyone or what you need to tell them.

I have been to Morocco twice.
Maybe that’s what changed me.
Or maybe I just like to destroy muscle ass.

I came out when I was about 21

I remember sucking my first willy. He's a minger now, but it actually happened on my 21st birthday!!!

And I think I came out around then.

just a general enquiry, given there is a Hallmark card for everything ....? for most people I am sure coming out is a joyous occasion

why, surely if you feel confident enough to come out then its a relief? and in general people probably knew for ages at any rate

How am I transphobic? I feel no hatred or distaste in regards to trans people.

Also that's a bit like asking how a straight man can be a misogynist.
