View Full Version : Segun discussing his virginity

I thought it was pretty ballsy of him (no pun intended) to discuss this openly on last night's show. Maybe he hadn't intended on it, but when the conversation came up he wasn't going to lie. The conversation seemed to be going well, but I got the sense that he became more uncomfortable the more Emma was cracking jokes about it. She did seem to be prying a bit much, and with Hannah too, but I do think Emma is harmless and she did provoke an interesting conversation to watch.

Fair dues to him, nice to see someone walk the walk as well as talk the talk

I'm not a Christian but fair play to him. I can respect people living true to their own standards and he doesn't feel overly preachy about it either.

I don't know how old he is - perhaps 22 or something but if I was a virgin at 22 I wouldn't admit it.

Perhaps his thrusting is involuntary, maybe it's his penis telling him it's ready when he is.

Less embarrassing then saying you lost it at 14 in an alleyway

Very true and tbh Marcello having an experience like that at a very young age is probably partly why he continues to have a pretty warped view of sex well into his 30s

Got nothing against him and his choice
But I couldn’t imagine waiting until I was married only to find out I didn’t like that flavour

Yeah respect to him. I'm from a Christian faith to and I was a virgin until I married my wife when I was 22. She's the only woman I've ever been with, both in that sense and being the only woman I've ever dated. It's pretty rare these days and there is something nice about it in my opinion

Yeah it was nice to see more of him opening up, it's a very private thing...but he seemed ok with talking about it. Himself and Hannah value their belief & faith ,and the fact their willing to wait until marriage, shows they see the act of sex as more than something casual...and they want it to have a purity to it .

After all think of all the regrets people have who have lost their virginity too easily, both Segun & Hannah want it to have meaning.

Emma was curious, but I don't think Segun is use to conversations about sex. It was interesting hearing his story about a girlfriend he had, who didn't understand his beliefs.

havent seen the episode, but big brother shouldnt be promoting such a messed up lifestyle choice.
guy wont even be able to get hard with all the christian shame he must have.
sex should be enjoyed its 2024.

Can I ask why it's embarrassing for a man to openly share he's a Virgin? , but it's fine for a woman to be a Virgin?. If anything Marcello should be embarrassed at confessing to losing his virginity at age 14 !!! In an alleyway!!, as others have said....that probably explains Marcello's warped view on relationships & sex .

He is clearly still a virgin by choice though, it's not like some kind of incel thing or where he can't get laid. Admitting that it's something you are choosing for yourself isn't really embarrassing.

I don't think they were promoting it, they just showed a conversation where he spoke about it. I agree that a healthy sex life shouldn't be shamed and religious shaming around sex can have very negative consequences, but there was nothing that he said which suggested he had been shamed into remaining a virgin. For some people it is just a personal choice and I respect that.

The key word here is choice.

Some need to learn to accept other lifestyles and preferences. It's 2024 after all.

Imagine if Segun did a Marcello and bragged about shagging around,I doubt that would be seen in a good light. So surely it makes a change ,that a man is choosing to wait .

He's 25, I was one until 26. For different reasons (I was slow at embracing my sexuality and putting myself out there to meet guys), but I think it's a shame that people have an expectation on everybody to have had sex by a certain age.

Yeah I liked that he wasn't afraid to say this as well, especially with a bunch of guys around (particularly with someone like Marcello there too), it was refreshing to see

…I know someone who didn’t have religion in their life until they were adult age…maybe early twenties, I can’t recall exactly…but they had already lost their virginity before they found their faith…anyway, from then on their beliefs changed in terms of waiting to meet their life partner and waiting for marriage…it feels quite a rare thing but it’s very much a part of some beliefs and good for others to understand so hopefully disperses any type of mockery or whatever…this is what I love about BB…

Far too much stigma attached to sex these days, it doesnt go away either the older you get. You just get labelled sad and lonely by the supposed caring youth of today, if you ainr getting any, or not wanting any.

Well it's how she talks, upbringing ,her friends... where she grew up I guess. Is she from London?. There's different dialects on parts of London/ street talk etc.

What I like is she isn't putting on an act , she's 100% her authentic self .

It is utterly absurd to deny himeslf what is human. Indeed survival of the species depends on it.

Now feast your eyes on the drivel below.
Conform or die, it shrieks in irrational fury

“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with me nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

I respect him for being honest and it's a personal choice. Nobody else's business. There's too much peer pressure on young people to lose their virginity. That's a problem with society in general. Maybe there wouldn't be so many unwanted pregnancies etc if people weren't ridiculed for being a virgin. Especially young men. Attitudes still haven't changed. You're a stud if you shag loads of girls but, reverse the roles, and you're a slag. He's also said he's been tempted but had the willpower to abstain. Thoroughly admirable. Wait until the time is right for you and have no regrets.
