Love him aswell
Daze tried to label him as viscously attacking her
He made her eat her words
I like him but I thought he was a bit mean and antagonistic tonight tbh, he chose a pretty bad time to reignite the argument when Daze was clearly in quite an upset state. Worth remembering she had just found out she was nominated as well even though the focus was all on Martha and Khaled
Going on and on. He can't let it drop :fist:
He walked away ages ago before the 2nd interaction...daze repeated her 1st conversation with nathan, to marcello, lily and ali in 2 separate conversations...only after that did nathan come back out to see if the air could be cleared. So infact it was daze who went on and on and refused to drop things.

He was defending Khaled originally who was getting grilled by Daze for no reason because she wanted to score fake compassionate browny points. After realising this, Nathan called her out on it and spoke well.
Daze then threw a strop and proceeded to cry/play victim: "I don't feel heard" etc. Then said Nathan viciously attacked her. Realising that this was also absurd, she said "oh no it felt like one, you're not even listening to me!"
I think Nathan sees that Daze is pretty sly. I don't even love Nathan either to be honest but I see nothing wrong with him defending Khaled when the hyenas were circling. As someone else said in the highlights thread, Daze clearly has no one on the outside world that confronts her on this sort of bs. So she feels threatened by it and plays the victim when someone calls her out on it.

I actually think that the one thing that I don't think Daze is (for better or worse) is fake.
I think that Daze is mostly genuine imo, along with Emma, Hanah, and Nathan.
Yeah I think that that Daze (like all Housemates) likes to embellish certain attributes about herself, but I think that for the most part what you see is what you get with Daze.
Imo the fakest Housemate is Lily.
He is the very definition of giving back what he receives (but on his terms). Of the people in the house, he's at very bottom of my list in terms of the people who care most how other people feel about them in the house. He just does whatever Nathan does, but he's not so obtuse he's ignoring whatever else is going on in the house.

I agree with you here. My perception is that Nathan’s actions were very reasonable. I felt that Daze had already expressed her view on the sofa, before Nathan made his point, so I didn’t perceive it as cutting her off or butting in. And, from my point of view, his reason for doing so was justified - he was defending someone who had been placed in a very difficult lose/lose situation.
Like Nathan, I felt Khaled expressed himself thoughtfully, and explained clearly how he had come to his decision. I felt he handled it well, and didn’t deserve to be verbally attacked at that moment. My perception was that he was trying to say that he had come to his decision in the fairest way he could find, and that made sense to me.
I felt Nathan made his point clearly, calmly and politely, and I can’t understand how it could be perceived as a ‘vicious attack’. In fact, the irony is that Daze’s attack on Khaled was more thoughtless and vicious, than anything Nathan said. In my opinion, he was right to pursue the matter with her, as her comments were not justified. In truth, I think even Daze had recognised that her wording towards him was unfair once she had had the time to think about it more rationally.

He’s not necessarily my type of person, but I think he’s a great housemate too, and I like him more as time goes by. I didn’t expect to say that, but I’m finding myself in agreement with his perceptions more often than not. I think he is able to stand outside himself, and to evaluate situations in a very rational and accurate way, and that is something I have respect for,

Nathan got a little fixated on the word "vicious" as he knows that if people don't know the context that is a very strong word. He laboured the point a little too much for me but he did so in a reasonable and calm manner until Daze did take it back. Anyone who is a little hot headed would get quite frustrated with his ability to remain so calm during a conflict but its a great trait to have.

I think you talk sense. He did get a little fixated on the words ‘vicious attack’ which he felt was an inaccurate accusation that reflected badly on him. And quite rightly so. I have to agree with him, and I felt he was justified in pursuing the matter until the words were retracted.
Personally, I wouldn’t like unfair accusations being thrown around about me, and I’d feel the need to address it too. I think that because Nathan remains so calm about everything, housemates tend to forget that he has feelings too - and Daze’s words had bothered and affected him.

…yeah I felt as though he laboured it as you say when it was easy to see that it wasn’t the time for Daze …anyway though, it was all sorted out between them…(…hopefully…)…I do feel that although they have completely different views and stances on things and different way of presenting that, they make an interesting conversation so I’d like the, both to be there for a while to come…I think there may be many clashes to come between them also…

In truth, though, Daze laboured the point too, and didn’t let it go, as she continued focusing on it in her discussions with many other housemates.
And, in the same way, it might not have felt the right time for Daze, she didn’t actually show any consideration for that when she jumped on Khaled, at a very difficult and stressful time for him. She showed no awareness of the no-win situation Khaled had been placed in, or how uncomfortable and guilty he would have felt in being forced to make a public decision that was always going to upset someone.
I felt that Daze was much more inconsiderate during this incident, and chose to blow Nathan’s justifiable defence of Khaled way out of proportion. I don’t dislike Daze, but in all honesty, I found her reactions to be just a little self-indulgent - when she originally claimed it was about Martha, who did deserve some sympathy, it somehow turned into something that was all about her.

..I understand but then if Daze ‘jumped in’ and it was too reactive, which I think it was…then for me it was a little of two wrongs don’t make a right…I know they’re not wrongs as such but both things…/…both actions/reactions are open to equal criticism …I don’t dismiss that Daze’s part in things etc but I was specifically focused on Nathan’s part because that was the thread topic on this occasion…and I do feel that it wasn’t completely the right time but all seems well now as they say…

The focus of the thread was Nathan, so I understand where you are coming from. I think, for me, because posts on Nathan were so based on the events from last night, it felt difficult to pass judgement on him out of context, and without considering what might have prompted his own reactions and responses. It felt difficult to separate the two, as their motives and triggers seemed so intertwined with their interaction, if that makes sense.
I believe these two have settled for an uneasy truce at this moment, but that issues might well flare up again. Makes for interesting points of discussion, though!

…I just think that the modern world we live in has a very tribal leaning in that so much seems to be team this or team that and creates either a hero or a villain scenario…and of course BB/reality TV in general promotes that and nurtures it in its potion as well……so I try to look at both ‘faults’ as it were because that is to me, the more full context…and Daze behaviour doesn’t change that I agree with Annie and feel as though he over laboured the point a bit at that time, imo…I like him, he’s absolutely a favourite of mine and I’m not changed in that opinion because of that one interaction and that he did have some fault…

Everything in the world these days is definitely more polarised. You see that so much in politics - you pick a side and defend everything and anything they do, whilst criticising the other side relentlessly, regardless whether they are right or wrong. It sometimes feels that many people in real life have lost the ability to step back and evaluate objectively. You’re right too in saying that BB will capitalise on this tendency and promote it, as it makes for great viewing.
Funnily enough, Nathan has never been a favourite of mine, and although I felt he behaved rationally and his actions were justified in this situation, of course that is only my opinion, and your opinion is equally justifiable, even if it isn’t the same as mine. That’s just the nature of opinions!

…I don’t think it’s just politics though in that I think for me it’s quite a social media thing but interesting in terms of BB, I think it started to present itself more and more in Helen Wood’s series which I definitely think was prominent in ‘forming tribes’…and we’ve had things such as Rebecca Vardy and Coleen Rooney and it’s an instant team one or team the other but it’s just become such a way with so much and yeah, it’s part of politics also…we all get drawn into these things at times though because it’s impossible not to…
