I was on a forum once where the discord suddenly became popular. It was the death of that forum.

Not necessarily. The Tibb one is perfectly respectable, James runs it and he wouldn't stand for any messing. You are correct though to some extent. Some have no morals whatsoever, and the moderation is sh1t.

I had discord and was in a few servers but some of them are a bit chaotic in terms of there’s so many people in them. You post something and it just gets overlooked as too many people are posting at one time (happened in a GTA one I was in) and they’re not really interested in getting to know new members.

I barely used it in the end and a year ago I decided to delete my account.

I'm in quite a few servers for Twitch communities so use it quite a lot.

Discord private servers are good for coordinating things with people you know. We use it for table top when we have to do remote and have to call in. Most everyone I use it with are people who I'm very familiar with. Community servers are kind of lame and have to deal with mods... unless they're really small.

But yes, Discord has a terrible reputation now and it's a prominent den for online drama. I still remember when it was really only used for in-game VOIP. Similar to Teamspeak...
