I saw Martha for the first time tonight and it made me a bit sad

I saw someone incredibly insecure and vulnerable there tonight. I think that she is probably quite lonely in RL outside her Swiftie circle.

I'm not even here to say anything mean about her, even though I don't think she should win.

I watch BB as a combat sport usually, I tend to look at the HMs as cartoon characters because after all they are in there to play a game and they know the score, and it kind of jarred me, won't lie.

She might not be the most outstanding HM ever but I think tonight I started to actually like her.

It wasnt nice to watch, when they got up and walked away she knew instantly. I must admit. I cried.

Shes really struggling to fit in. They camt honestly think shes fake though. All I see is a kind heart, a woman who tries to keep herself upbeat so as not to bring down others. It's a shame the actions of sarah and nathan brought her down tonight. They came across as intolerant snobs.

Came across very obnoxious tonight and her sorrys are meaningless. Shouting her mouth off that they were on a secret task that could have won the house a party or something. Straight away told Ali everything then gets mad when people think you're a gossip. That's the reason they went quiet when she came up the stairs.

I feel a tiny bit sorry for her cos she's clearly an "outsider" but she rubs people up the wrong way with her "slay", "it's giving" shtick. Comes across desperate to be liked and too complementary to the point it doesn't feel authentic. She also cannot or will not refrain from b1tching and being a lap dog for Ali..

I've known quite a few people like her irl and they tend to annoy me too.

It was so painfully awkward when sarah & Nathan walked away, i think Martha is forcing a friendship with sarah... but i don't think Sarah likes her much. Sarah & BP seem to get on more with eachother. Martha is desperate and tries too hard.

There seems to be some weird vibe between the 3 of the girls, i noticed in the kitchen when BP was talking about her earrings... and Martha started acting excited like some teenager at a slumber party, and Sarah felt ignored and walked away with a serious expression on her face.

Then Martha proceeds to start slagging BP off to Ali, i think Martha is jealous of their friendship. And Ali & Martha are ridiculous for blurting out the secret mission. It felt like Martha couldn't handle being known a a gossip, or she probably wishes she got given the secret mission instead.

I still can’t work her out, but her crying because they picked her as a gossip then proving she was a gossip, and in record time didn’t wash with me. I do think she’s holding back.

I’ve also noticed she seems to get annoyed in tasks etc when she doesn’t get much airtime and others do.

…ahhh, I just made a post in another thread that reflects something similar…yeah, I agree….its very sad to see, I think that she’s THAT person who never gets chosen as the bestie of or the one who someone connects most with or the fun/funny one or the maternal one or etc…you know how in a group, many have a ‘role’ as it were or are a key part of a group when there’s a divide etc…?…but I think that Martha is THAT person who struggles to find any of that…a little bit ‘invisible’ really…I mean, Khaled may have chosen her in a very reasoned way but she was still the one chosen as the person he least connected with…and she was chosen as the ‘gossipy one’ also…that’s all got to cut, hasn’t it…I know that she did prove herself to be the gossipy one…:laugh:..in how quickly she did revel in telling but I think it’s one of those circles of feeling elated that she was given the secret and feeling the attention of revealing it…in those moments she would maybe feel a sense of ‘wow, I’ve been chosen…’…type thing…but yeah, vulnerable for sure and really a little lost in the house dynamics and dramas…

But, yeah, I agree that probably comes from a place of feeling the need to be seen rather than malicious **** slinging.

Her whole constructed persona broke down last night though and we saw a glimpse of the real her.

…yeah for sure, I don’t see or feel any maliciousness at all…nothing negative in her actions and behaviour…just a really big craving and wanting to find her place and ‘visibility’ within a group that has big personalities…that singing on her own was quite sweet but equally sad…
