I would want Gerry to go.

I personally like Nicky more, because she is more of a rollercoastrer type character, but Gerry doesnt have any detractors, so Nicky would probably get evicted over him, unfortunately:sad:

I like Gerry, must be Nicky.
I thought these were the real nominations! Anyway, I like them both but I'd like for Nicky to go. She's lost the entertaining factor that I once saw in her, and her complaining is getting on my nerves more than Gerry.

Gerry. He's incredibly lazy, and contributes absolutely nothing to the house. It's pretty rare to actually see him standing up, and those hideous yellow socks have had far more outings than Laura's dressing gown ever did. He bitches constantly with Carole and occasionally Piggy and/or Liam about the younger hm's. Lots of people dislike Chanelle at the moment for being miserable, but Gerry plays a major role in that. He has all the charisma of an undertaker. He engineered Charley's only major argument last week, and regardless of whatever she may be guilty of, she didn't deserve the vile things he said to her. He patronises Brian beyond belief, and the twins too, whenever he gets the opportunity.
He's extremely boring, as Brian has pointed out on numerous occasions. He's also not as clever as he likes to think he is, hence falling for the 'dog eaten by kangaroo' story. He's incredibly selfish and petulant, as we saw during the Kylie task. He's also taken up the cod-psychologist mantle that Jonathan left behind, yet makes an even worse job of it. He fell for everything Charley said when she returned to the house, yet within hours he was telling Chanelle it was all lies. Then on the highlights show earlier, he was quite blatantly lying in a desperate attempt to save himself from eviction. He's running scared because he's convinced that Charley is popular with the audience, and he's hoping to paper over incidents such as last week's argument. Then there's his tedious, droning voice ...

I would want Gerry evicted. Nicky is much more interesting, much more intelligent and has a lot of common sense. Gerry usually tries to justify anything he says by saying he's "the intelligent one". He is one of the biggest bitches in the House and one of the most smug housemates this year. He's an arse-licker to Chanelle, Ziggy, Carole and Jonathan when he was there.
He's a sheep, a member of the Cult of Chiggy so to speak, and his eviction would weaken that horrible group. He can't take responsibility for his wrongs. An example would be when Nicky caught him bitching about her, he said "you made me this way", it didn't make any sense at all, and it sounded like he was blaming Nicky for his bitching. He is very sly and tries to make the other party look like they're completely in the wrong even when he knows they're not, the Nicky example where she caught him bitching is also an example of that.
I saw him on the Live Feed once telling Ziggy he was going to make Nicky "crack" by slagging her off for her weight, he hasn't actually done it yet but the fact he considered psychologically bullying someone and then calls other people "bullies" (another example of him making others look in the wrong when they're totally not, he tries to make out he is "standing up" to someone even though he is one of the most pathetic cowards in the House) just because he doesn't get on well with him is incredibly ironic, hilarious, and absolutely shocking and disgusting. As well as that, he is patronising and that annoys me. The way he speaks to the twins makes me cringe.

The man at least has something to contribute to the house, though. Where would the housemates be without his wisdom and insight on such social matters as “The Chiggy saga”, “The Charley Phenomenon” and “Please don’t grab my monkey and lube it up without asking!”. Who else is there in the house to help relax the housemates with highbrow stories of visits to the Uffizi, the Louvre or the Guggenheim, maybe even drawing some analogies along the way of how time in the Big Brother house is similar to how Odysseus spent so much time away from home after the Trojan Wars on a very meagre shopping budget with only the company of his comrades to keep him sane. OK, maybe people do complain about him being boring, but like he said in his argument with Charley “I’d rather be boring than…” followed by something derogatory in reference to her, which leads me onto the fact of who else has had the backbone to actually stand up to Charley and not crumble half-way through the task? Apart from Emily, (who’s unfortunately long gone) the answer is Gerry. Surely that must earn him one or two points?
He can be gullible, that part’s true, but it’s not exactly a crime, is it? If anything it shows that he’s prepared to trust in people, which is something lacking in too many people these days, particularly in the Big Brother house. I’m sure he’ll have learnt his lesson after “fake week”. I think Gerry brings something different to the house, he may not be the most intelligent person ever but he’s certainly got a thing or two on the others in there, which must count for something, and he’s always eager to have a bit of fun with someone if the opportunity presents itself. Then of course there’s Freddy. If you get rid of Gerry, you get rid of Freddy; along with the twins, the only housemate who can seem to manage a genuine smile, these days, even if he does still smell of lube.

He wasn't 'standing up' to Charley though, because he engineered the argument. He also resorted to repetition extremely quickly, too. He ran out of steam all too soon, and from then on it was just a case of trying to shout as loud as possible whilst repeating himself. There's nothing admirable there, and if anything, it simply illustrates his own character flaws, rather than hers.
The example I gave was more rank stupidity than merely having a trusting nature. If someone told you that story, you'd picture a kangaroo in your mind. And clearly, a kangaroo doesn't have incisors, making the whole scenario impossible. Never mind the fact that sheer physicality makes it extremely unlikely.

I'd have to say Nicky, just because Gerry has some potential of at least being happy. Nicky's become miserable and it's obvious that she doesn't have any real friends in there. Her and Charley won't be friends outside of the house, for sure.

I agree that Gerry engineered that argument with Charley and I have no sympathy for him in the way Charley spoke to him, but he made himself clear that he wasn't prepared to back down any longer, and true to his word, he didn't. Yes, he kept repeating himself, but so does Charley alot of the time during her arguments. He was only fighting fire with fire, out of principle. This incident alone doesn't put Gerry in a great light, admittedly, but relative to how anyone else has contested Charley and the task in general, he did OK, for his standards.
As for the kangaroo that ate the dog, I think you're being unfair. There's no guarantee someone like Gerry would have ever seen a kangaroo properly just because he's educated. He likes art, languages and classical civilisation, not going to the zoo. Maybe the powerful lower body and frail upper body of the kangaroo reminded him of a Deinonychus skeleton he'd seen in a museum, leading to his mistake, but yes, in that instance maybe he was a little too gullible.

But you're moving the goalposts to accommodate him. His whole 'I won't back down' (*horrid Tom Petty imagery is stuck in my mind now*) spiel was fundamentally flawed because he instigated it. So effectively, what he was saying was 'I'm going to launch a well-rehearsed yet totally unprovoked attack, and persist until I've pummelled her into submission'. Petty playground bully tactics (*far more enjoyable Talking Heads imagery has now kicked Tom Petty into touch*). I'm not sure suffering a technical knock-out actually translates as having 'done OK'.
Stop now, you're killing me! :joker: (Mods: we get along fine and exchange occasional U2U's - this isn't a personal attack). Do you really expect to get away with the concept of a 31-year-old man never having seen a kangaroo? I'm sure Skippy was alerting the authorities that someone had fallen down a well even on Gerry's telly during his formative years.

Get rid of nicky! She's done nothing but moan since day one, I've never seen her having fun with any of the housemates and she starts spiteful arguments over nothing.

To be honest, I quite liked her at the start. She seemed nice but then she started constantly bitching with charley, moaning and starting arguments out of nowhere!
I watch LF all the time and still think she's miserable!

I agree she can be but I think she has a nasty streak and I'd prefer gerry stayed in.
