Exactly
Dean is full of BS , he's accusing Marcello of being "toxic masculinity" whilst also saying he's " manipulating with cooking", doesn't make any sense.
Dean is just being a nasty bitch .

I don’t even like Dean either lol.
Every single male housemate this series sucks. It’s the worst male cast in years.

Marcello himself used to be a chef and loves to cook (and not just chicken). He’s an obtuse idiot but this time he obviously meant something different. Hate to love him, love to hate him.

He wasn't just doing a task ,he was being a horrible bitch.

It's true tbf.
Dean is calling Marcello out for "toxic masculinity" when he likes to cook, an activity that machismo personality types don't gravitate towards.
Dean was bang out of order with Marcello and Sarah, he went really personal and hopefully he'll get to find out what the public think of his behaviour in the upcoming eviction.

What has that got to do with Dean being a complete bitch towards Marcello?
I agree with what you're saying about Marcello bragging about cheating on his partner, but that's a totally separate topic.
If anyone can say why they think Dean was in the right against Sarah and Marcello last night, then I would love to hear it.

Hub does a lot more of the cooking than I like to admit. I do a lot of meal preparation because I value simplicity with the pace of my life and a small child. We're not the biggest of eaters. But just shifted kitchen around to finally make it more workable (for me) so I can finally start baking again regularly... that's my preferred way to cook. Everyone seems to like to oil everything here (including air fry), toast or char (BBQ)... anyway, way off topic.

I mean, if Marcello does see cooking to be a feminine interest (rightly or wrongly) and is yet happy to do it anyhow and be open about his love of it surely that's a good thing and shows that he is comfortable with that caring nurturing side of himself?
Get that misogynist Marcello in the bin NOW!
While the culinary industry is male dominated, with over 80% of fine dining chefs are male, cooking at a home for those you live with it still seen as mainly a female task by many. I know in my friendship circle, the 'job' of feeding the family largely falls on the woman in the relationship.
Marcello was obviously referring to this attitude. Marcello was a chef, he will know how that cooking isn't a female dominated industry, so I don't think his point reflected his views specifically.
I really don't think he meant anything else by it.

He is talking about how cooking is perceived in general by people.
Being into cooking is not perceived as a masculine profession to people that are machismo/display toxic masculinity.
Because I'm willing to bet that someone like Andrew Tate would have something to say about men that cook for example.
Marcello was right in what he was saying, we don't have to like the truth, but sometimes the truth sucks.

Exactly this.
You've described it much better than I have.
But I honestly don't get how anyone has misinterpreted what Marcello meant, he made it pretty clear.
I get that some people don't like him (which is fair enough) but there's no need to twist what he meant, because he made Dean look like a prick in the argument.

Cooking at home in general is perceived as a feminine trait.
It's just in 2024, it's not probably stated as openly as what Marcello did in the episode.
But we'll see if Andrew Tate starts bragging about making his own Pizza.

Idk if he was really "being a bitch" towards him, he said from the beginning that he doesn't like "masculine men" (which is a problematic statement in itself since it would be an issue if anyone said they didn't like feminine men), but honestly I think that he just worded it really poorly. Pretty sure he meant the "laddy" type which is just his personal preference I guess
It was literally the task Dean was given and he delivered, not really sure why it's such a big deal that he's been honest with his thoughts about Sarah/Marcello

The big deal for me in regards to what he said about Sarah was that he was just downright nasty to and about her. It wasn't about stuff she'd done either like bad behaviour which you could argue Marcello has been guilty of. It was stuff like her dress sense and her voice/accent

Yeah I could see that she would probably be a little hurt/offended by it but also I feel like doesn't everybody (or at least most people) have somebody they feel that way about? Whether it's just a vibe or feeling or voice/accent/way they talk etc. It's just that usually they don't actually say it to them

Sure but most people wouldn't say it to their face because....why? Even as part of that task, It's just really mean and accomplishes nothing only to make the person feel insecure about stuff they can't (or shouldn't have to) change.

Notice how it's getting twisted into that , absolutely ridiculous isn't it.
Marcello handled himself brilliantly with the weasel, I think Dean expected Marcello to get angry ,which would have just played straight into his narrative. I'm so glad he stayed calm & relaxed and put the little twat in his place, in the most chilled way.
In fact all 3 of them - Sarah, Khaled & Marcello were
amazing in last night's show.
Sarah didn't cry ,and was incredibly intelligent & open with him. She's so down to earth.
Khaled has more maturity in his little finger, than Nathan has all over . Khaled is such a decent guy . He continues to prove he has more growth than a few of them in there
, despite him being young.

It's probably a fair point about Marcello, but the way he expressed it was extremely poor (like you've also said) so I can definitely understand why people wouldn't be happy with Dean about that, especially when he doubles down on it in the eviction interview.
And imo his comments towards Sarah were even worse, she can't help her voice, and what shoes she chooses to wear has nothing to do with Dean.

By people who view cooking as a woman only job, maybe, but normal people don’t care who does the cooking in the home, only ‘alpha male’ incels and pick me’s care
And Marcello was trying to say that he is not one of those people.
And unfortunately there are a growing population of Incels in the country, and just people with old fashioned views about cooking.
I do think though that some people do like to jump on anything Marcello says, and I get that he is not the only Housemate receiving that treatment, but obviously the thread is about him so I don't want to list every single Housemate that I feel is getting that treatment this series.
