I look after children and young people who have additional needs, with more of a speciality in autism and learning disabilities.

Currently work for a big company (not NHS), but have also worked in Australia and NZ temporarily.

Experience in forensics (secure and civil), residential, 1:1, day centres, outreach, domiciliary and palliative.

What about you? What do you do?

I'll call myself self-employed.

It sounds a lot cooler than the truth.:bawling:

I think it is cool. You are your own boss. What do you self employ in?

Unfortunately I don't really have a job.

A mixture of laziness on my part, lack of actual job opportunities at my level, and probably just not being good enough to get a job tbh.

Also I have no clue what direction that I should take my life in.

Sorry about making the thread entirely about myself btw, you've got an interesting thread going on here, so I don't want to ruin it.

I don't want to sound harsh, but there are always job opportunities. It's just whether you want to actually do those jobs. If you can financially support yourself until you do then that's great.

You are always good enough for a job, but if it's a speciality or in demand job then you have to have something that sets you apart, be that qualifications or experience.

Yeah I think so many struggle with the direction. For me, personally, I've fell into what I do. I don't really know what else I'd do. Do I absolutely love it, nah not really.

I'm a teaching assistant, but only part time due to health issues.

I used to work in a behavioral unit, which I loved and miss, but again... health issues.

As I've said, partial laziness has definitely kicked in on my part, so I definitely have to take responsibility for underachieving on what I believe that I could do.

What would you say would be your dream job to get? I'm going off-topic I know, but I am a nosey ****er sometimes.

Customer Service..

Started as a Hotel Receptionist..then worked for BA for many years (best years of my life) and now a Medical Receptionist.

I have loved working with the public...people fascinate me but the older I get the less tolerant I am of selfish/mindless behaviour...
