[University tuition could rise with inflation to £9,500 or £10,500
under the new Labour government]
September 2025 date given.
Not something,
the young can take at this troubled time...................

Are this government on a mission just to become more and more unpopular
Don't remember this being in the manifesto or featuring in election debates?

Really, does it matter?
So the figure that rarely gets fully paid off in full anyway is going to be a bit higher. It's not a good look, and it won't do anything for their popularity.
Leave no stone unturned

Disgusting.
But even worst is the student loans now.
The interest they incur is horrific, most people, even in top jobs in London, will never pay them off over the 40 year term or what ever it is now.
Personally I will be paying for my kids so they don't have to take the loan.

Yes but some Universities
could go under.
So they need more Cash.
They should have put it in their Manifesto
it could break many budgets
of the young in many Universities.

I'm sure labour voters on the forum, previously against tuition fees, will fall inline behind the prime charlatan.

Universities need to stop using students particularly foreign ones as cash cows and start paying their higher level management alot less

Urgh that sort of thing does annoy me - even when I speak negatively about things like the changes to the winter fuel allowance, my nan gives me a dirty look for speaking against The Party.
And she's someone who's going to have to make choices based on the cut. But it's okay, because Labour "are doing it for good reasons", whereas if the Tories did it, it would be evil  tribalism man ...

I've seen it on here for at least 2 years. Someone says they are against something, maybe even calling themselves a socialist in the process. Starmer says the opposite of what they'd previously said they believed, then they make excuses for him and the party.
Principles should always be principles, regardless of which person or party holds power.

BBC News Text:
[It is the first student loan rise in eight years,
the Metro reports, which it says means
the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has made
a "180-degree uni U-turn".
Previously he promised to abolish tuition fees,
the paper says, but now his government
is "putting them up 3.1%".
Sir Keir said he wanted to abolish tuition
fees altogether when he was running
for the leadership of the Labour Party in 2020,
but he warned last year that Labour
was "likely to move on" from the pledge.]

It was the Labour Party that introduced tuition fees, in case we forget. English students are being discriminated against.

They are going to do what they like and just blame on the debt the Tories racked up...

I am left at some actions and this is one of them, I'm left shaking my head in firstly disbelief but disappointment and even anger.
They really will have to deliver on the NHS, Education, Housing, Growth too plus really make an impact too on the immigration issue too.
IF they have not improved the first 4 for me in around 5 years, then it's likely I will give up on them and I feel sure if they don't improve on them, voters will not then likely overlook these unnecessary and WRONG choices of policy in government this first year.
This tuition fees policy is absolutely terrible.
I am as a Labour member absolutely furious.
Public Services too, after these atrocious policies recently they better have improved them greatly too.
