View Full Version : The ONLY long edits we ever get are when the prod team want to platform a HMs views

Whether it's Nathan in the DR or Ali repeatedly (but especially tonight), the only long edits that happen are when the chosen HM is talking at length and negative imaging the HMs they don't like.
Now, I have said before that I don't think that the prod team has a bias, that they just lean towards making an entertaining show, but I am actually going to walk that back.... This kind of platforming of opinions is designed to sway public opinion.
I think this year, based on how the show has been built, that there IS a bias... Ali is that bias.
Every time... She is in the 'highlight group' in every task. Every task she gets a flattering costume to wear. Every time she gets that camera time. When she talks at length about other HMs she gets super long edits in a show that is otherwise about short cuts.
These are strong and observable patterns.

I would agree with that. But it isn't a new thing they always have their chosen one or two and who they want as the bad girl/guy etc. Everyone plays a role which they pick and they edit to suit that role.

Agreed.
Ali isn't the first and won't be the last chosen one from BB.
If she does win though, the LGBT community can celebrate a hat-trick on ITV's version.
I don't know if anyone has noted that? It's an incredible story for the Media to run with if it happens.

Indeed.
While I don't care about the sexual orientation of the winner (where they prefer to rub their junk is of no matter to me) it is the death of show to make that the main thing that's my issue.
Predictably and mind numbing tribalism are not what BB was ever about.
Just say shes a plant so Itv can keep the 100g to themselves then im interested

Well, they would probably need to pay an actress a 100k to live that life for that many weeks and then stay quiet.

To me it's just an unbelievable statistic that could happen more than anything.
Especially considering Channel 5 were very anti-LGBT for most of their series.

You could imagine her working on set, nbossing everyone around when she has full control.

Oh same here, hence why I'm a Sarah fan (who I think would tick the hat trick box too if she were to hypothetically win) so it's no skin off my nose.
Admittedly Non-Binary might push me though if ITV ever tried to push that on me, I'll be honest about that.:joker:
No offense to anyone, but I do agree with Ryan on that being just too odd for me.
Hey, it's cool everyone wants to come under a brolly..
Just dont turn BB into an autumnal pride March.
It was fine in its infancy, tyvm.

Just to clarify, I don't actually hate people who identify as Non-Binary, it's just a bit weird to me is all.
Because I get that this post sounds more harsh than I'm intending, I just don't really get the whole Non-Binary scene more than anything, I would never actually encourage anything extreme against them or anything like that though.
…the flattering costume for tasks, is a interesting one …but I’m not sure that I feel that Ali is given a flattering costume through any favouring…the lab rat task wasn’t flattering, obviously…but she did look amazing as the red witch …but that costume/part was given because she was labelled that red witch by some in the house…(…I think…)…in tasks …with chosen costumes…?..the team will possibly try to fit the character with the costume…?…and Ali does have that ‘ice maiden’ type vibe, doesn’t she…she isn’t seen as the fun or funny character to be given a more fun/funny costume…it’s surely the housemates also that might determine these things…like in the hot tub recently, some have expressed how incredibly physically attractive they find her and she is etc…so, chosen costumes etc can factor those ‘roles’ or impressions or general thoughts of the housemates especially as the production team is privy to their hearts and souls and every sound and movement etc…
…I would say also that stand out housemates in any given task, if there are standouts…are some of the most unflattering and funny costumes…the funny/fun costume maketh the task star player is often a BB rule…like, if they gave Ali a really ‘un-Ali’ costume…that to me would lean more toward a possible thought of favouring because it’s a ‘standout’ ….
…over-thinking, I know….but hey…

Maybe having a non-binary HM would be able to help educate a few people who don't get it, me included. I think it could make for some interesting discussions.
On to the original post, I don't believe there is a bias towards Ali at all...
1. We didn't even see her participate in the latest task properly.
2. There was no "highlight group" in the Vamps vs Villagers task.
3. She wasn't part of the cabinet for the Government task.
4.She wasn't part of the staff for Coconut Eye Land
5. She wasn't chosen as HoH by BB it was simply process of elimination like all the others.
6. Maybe Ali makes her costumes look flattering because she's beautiful and has a great body.
There is definitely bias against Ali though, just not from BB...

…over-thinking, I know….but hey…
In the good old days when filling in the application if you got through a couple of stages you then had to fill out the form it took 3 hours if you didn’t mess about
In that for you had to give all your measurements
Waist chest hight
It’s still the case today
They have the housemates measurements and were possible costumes are made to measure
So it’s no surprise than some fit others better

People forget
The producers are not doing this show for fun it’s a business
People ask why they put nasty or boring people on the show it’s for those very reasons
It’s actually not even a social experiment because bb actually encourages the housemates to be two faced and turn on each other
They get them in the diary room for long periods asking them questions and basically encouraging them to say stuff they don’t really want to say
…it’s also how it’s all edited as well in giving heroes and villains and those more ‘bit part’ characters….I don’t believe really that there is in the main part, nasty or boring as that’s not necessarily the perspective of other housemates…I think that nasty or boring or whatever is created in the editing because that’s what creates the talking points and interest and kind of a fundamental of BB…
Interesting theory, not sure I quite believe it though because of the reasons BBXX outlined
It's fair to say we have had a lot of long cuts of Ali but I think we've had that from Nathan, Hanah and a couple of others too

I suppose, but being corrected about what pronouns to use is probably going to do my nut in after awhile.
But it is a social experiment, so a Non-Binary person is a legit pick I guess.

Fair enough... I personally see pronouns the same way I see a name. If someone wants to be referred to as a certain name, I will call them it and the same with the pronouns. Both I think are easy to remember.
I mean we literally have a woman called Rosie being referred to as BAKED POTATO  And we've adapted to that extremely quickly despite it being a form of starchy vegetable and not in any way, shape or form a human name

It was far more flattering than being dressed as a rat and being put in a cage.

Sometimes, but the pattern of the costumes that have been given to Ali by the producers is clear. As are the roles she has been given in tasks.

Ryan practically got cancelled before he even started, just because of that. I'm surprised they didn't put in a
' non binary ' .... just so they could cause some type of drama between them. As you just know the producers would try and manipulate a debate .

Oh I would try to refer to them by their pronouns, I would never be a prick deliberately to someone over something like that.
It's just I'm used to saying for example "they went to the shop" when talking about plural amounts of people, not one individual, so that would take some time getting used to typing that out on here especially.
And with BP, I suppose I can adjust mentally better to a really strange name.
But if next year does have a Non-Binary contestant, I would try to address them by their pronouns, because that's just basic manners.

My point being I don't think that Ali's whole personality is "look I'm a Lesbian."
I do feel like she is heavily political as a Housemate, but I wouldn't say that her stint has been purely about LGBT themes, if anything she plays the feminist card more.

Lol, it definitely is.
Her core ID is a Radfem card carrying lesbian... That's been her game from the start.
I honestly thought you had seen that. She made a point of putting it up front in, I think, the second show.

When you think about it ,when we take all that away ...
What have we got ?. Literally a boring dull person who just over analyzes everything and everyone around her, whilst making it about herself.
And her profession is hyped up so much , and she likes to sound intelligent .....which yes there's no denying she is smart ,but I'm just not sure if she's very understanding in her job.

I think I'm just noticing her feminism much more in her gameplay tbh, and her hatred of masculine traits (including her dislike of Sarah I suspect) for displaying those traits to a point.
The Lesbian stuff has mainly entered my head for Ali because of potential Media articles tbh if she were to win.

Yeah it seems to fill most of her whole being.
I wonder what what a day to day work environment is like for her and how she functions ,she constantly had her ' working cap ' on in the house....and she would not let her hair down or relax. Now she's only letting go as most of her friends have gone.
