View Full Version : Why is it okay for Ali to actively be a man hater all series but..

Marcello makes the odd sexual comment and none pg Joke and he gets called a misogynistic who hates women even though half of his friends in their are women and he clearly has alot of love for them... yet Ali actively was very open about her clear dislike of straight men but thats fine because shes a woman the double standards this series piss me off.
She hasn’t said anything man hating she’s just pointed out certain behaviours that are exhibits of toxic masculinity.

She wanted him gone ,and her plan worked .... it's as simple as that, it just took longer than she anticipated,so her game plan kept changing .
Once he was getting saved ,and once she was losing her friends in the house ,she started buddying up with him. But yeah she started the whole " Khaled is fake" BS
...which destroyed him in the end, as other housemates
started jumping on the bandwagon to slag him off . Then she did a 180 and suddenly felt " bad for him", when she instigated the whole thing.

She’s not a man hater for having opinions on men she has to interact with, if Marcello doesn’t want to come across like a misogynist, he should probably change the way he talks about women

Probably because she does subliminal messages with the attire she wears. She's trying to come across as some SJW with a cape, she throws in buzz words like
" toxic masculinity" ,whilst shielding herself as some victim.
She repeatedly said her group were being " picked off 1 by 1 ", but really that's just made her position far stronger
now.....and she knows this. It just means she had to
move around the chess board a bit more . And now that Lily has gone , that's pretty much handed Ali the win now.
It actually would have been fitting if Ali got evicted with Lily.

See, this is why Ali won't be gone. The people against her can't decide on a single other HM to put there votes behind and so the anti Ali vote will split.
I see Emma as the natural choice for that, but clearly others won't.
To the original point of the OP though... X and Reddit, and by extension the BB production team, give zero ***** about misandry. In fact they actively enjoy it. It's an acceptable bigotry to that crowd.

Sure, but everyone will always think it should be 'their guy' and there is no way of changing that.
The only way that Ali is going is if she is up against one other HM who we can all focus behind and the production team in unlikely to allow that at this point.

Ali is doing what Dean tried and failed to do , she is playing on the fact she's a minority and using it to her advantage. She can play 2 cards against people - the sexuality one & the female one. Nobody cares about her gender or sexuality, but she started the whole 'pyramid scheme conspiracy ' in her head .
Whilst she can say whatever she wants , as she knows they'll be little to no backlash. Which is very hypocritical and reeks of double standards. Your identity shouldn't be used as a get out of
jail card ,to be as judgemental, mean and calculating as you like. If
anything it makes it worse in some ways .

I agree with you.
Personally I think that both have issues with the opposite gender (regardless of what people want to call it with them) but I do think that Ali's might come across more unhinged to me personally.
Marcello does sometimes blur the line into crossing into territory that I personally wouldn't recommend any guy go down, but most of the time he is normally just being a bit un-pc with his humour.

Emma started a full blown graphic conversation about ' anal', I don't think even Marcello has spoken that graphically in detail unprompted . Emma was even asking Nathan , and Lily & BP were involved in the conversation.

And with all due respect to Izaaz as he did come across well in his eviction interview.
But he was emasculated imo, Ali has an issue with masculine personality traits, even in people like Marcello and Khaled who aren't even that masculine if you put them in a real world scenario.
Anyone trying to say that Ali doesn't have issues in this area is not doing her any favours when she comes out of the house, you're enabling her behaviour.
Whenever anyone has a prejudice, I always think that it's good to try to get to the bottom of it and try to solve the issue, rather than putting my fingers in my ears and pretend that it's not happening.

Yeah I honestly think there's deep rooted issues there , and whether Ali & Dean have had bad experiences or not....they can't tar every ' masculine man ' with the same brush.
Ali is basically projecting toxic feminist traits. Which isn't what real feminism is even about.

Tbf, I don't know if I would personally say that Ali is someone with "toxic femininity" as personally it's just not the kind of language that I would use.
But I do think that Ali is apart of a new wave of feminism, that unfortunately can fall into the trap of man-hating/or disliking masculine traits.
To try and be as fair as possible to Ali and Dean, I don't know what kind of experiences that they've had with straight and masculine men, but the defense can only go so far because we're entering a very slippery slope if we just completely whitewash an individual's prejudice just because they might have had a bad experience with another individual that is also in that group.
And don't get me wrong I'm not saying that we should do anything OTT like legally punishing people for holding prejudiced opinions (because that's pretty dystopian) but obviously I don't want us to be encouraging any prejudices in society either.
That's just my opinion.

She hasn’t said anything man hating she’s just pointed out certain behaviours that are exhibits of toxic masculinity.
This.
There’s a very clear pattern in his behaviour and comments. He’s made crude comments on Sarah dancing, tried to make “jokes” about periods, tea bags, ph levels. Gaslit Sarah after the whole chicken thing to try and make out that she was the one with the problem when he came at her first. He put his hand on Lilys throat when they were “messing around”, continued to go on about how he’s a “human ejaculator” after Ali expressed how uncomfortable she felt when they were sat in the living area during nominations and couldn’t leave until they were done.
He tried to “joke” that they kissed even after she expressed, AGAIN, that she wasn’t comfortable with that. He didn’t shut down Lily when she was drunk and their conversation got a little flirty, this man is literally 14 years her senior… :omgno:! He also commented on how he’s cheats on every woman he’s with “before they can cheat on him”, the man supports Trump… I mean, enough said at this point.
The fact that people are pointing out how it’s “worrying” that people would support Ali for calling out literally any of this while continuing to back and try and explain away any of this behaviour is what’s actually baffling to me. He’s vile.
And before anyone tries, I don’t support the crude comments Emma has made either and I’m not trying to say Ali has never done anything wrong in that house, I don’t support everything she’s ever said but she’s made very valid points and that’s why I will continue to support her and vote for her to make sure someone like Marcello doesn’t win.

Not be a checklist of causes and X/ reddit approved 'virtues'. I don't care what gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity, or even who they voted for 10 years ago in my winner.
We are well and truly in the era of not who the winner should be but WHAT they should be, and I think it's potentially the death of BB as a watchable show.

She was crying as she thought Lily was popular, but she was crying for herself having fooled the public and survived yet another eviction.
I still don't think she'll have much time for Lily when she leaves. Even the WhatsApp group are taking their time to add Lily , it's only Daze who probably gives her the time of day.

Ali definitely started the issues with Khaled, and in my opinion her behaviour towards him back then was totally unjustified and unnecessary. She should never have called him out in front of the group, but should have spoken to him privately if she had an issue with him. It was unpleasant behaviour, and to me came across as cruel.
Khaled was very respectful in his conflicts with her, and handled the whole thing very graciously, considering the onslaught he encountered.
There is a certain irony that, in the end, she was basically defending him and speaking negatively about other housemates for focusing on an image of him that she created, He deserves a public apology from her, considering her very public annihilation of his character.
I’m disappointed that Khaled has gone as I think he deserved a place in the final week.

His cheers when he left was the best thing :cheer2: it definitely
rattled and confused a few housemates ,they tried to put it down to it just being ' thirsty young girls',but it's because Khaled was well liked all round....he was just unfortunately up for eviction against too many people ,and the vote splitting screwed him over.
He always stayed so calm ,cool and collected . Even when Ali had a hate campaign against him. He still tried to resolve and start a fresh ,but she's just a very hateful spiteful individual.
The moment Khaled got cheers, she's suddenly his biggest fan. And once she hears Rosie's boos .... she's questioning Rosie as a person. Ali calls others camera obsessed & fake ,but she's the one who's most aware of the cameras and she's massively influenced by crowd's reactions, and will change her game plan accordingly to fit her new storyline & agenda. She's so transparent.
She lied to Emma's face ,and had the nerve to play dumb in the Dr . I guess when you get caught red handed , just act innocent and go " erm I don't remember I don't think I said anything bad " etc etc :bored: .

Yeah that's what i just said, she's ticking boxes. She was around mid before people started buying into her manufactured victim role, i truly believe she feels like a victim too. Since then, you could just feel the tide turning (hence why i capitalised on her brilliant odds of 10/1 because it was so obvious what was happening) and you've only got to look on X to see she has the full backing of the LGBT community. Palestine, Trans, Gay, Victim. Excellent stuff. It's nothing new, but the same people who would call say Thomas, or Segun, who for all their faults are pretty inoffensive if they had lied to Ali's face about something when asked, "fake" and dicks. Are the same people calling Ali a "Queen" after her bare faced lie to Emma. Emma was so polite when asking Ali too. SHe even said "i don't wanna make you feel awkward, but".

To make it worse , she's even questioning Segun for being dishonest in his vault housemate choices. Again why does it matter to her ..when we all know Ali lies herself. And whatever reason Segun gave , Nathan & Ali would be boiling with rage & hate :idc: .
So whilst I think Segun could have told them the truth , their reaction would have still been the same, so what difference does it make . Plus throughout the series people have given cop out nomination votes anyway.
And Ali would have still been wearing her victim badge of honour.... like she's some poor little soul who's been picked on. She has all the sympathy and support she needs now .

He just said there's stuff he keeps private, he said he was an open book to talk about anything. But he just kept a few stuff private due to cultural & religious reasons. And people should respect that.
All the housemates will be keeping stuff a secret, but Khaled unfairly got targeted for it .

I didn't say she was her friend, but that doesn't mean they can't just have a conversation, they were bonding over both being up for eviction IIRC and as a result conversation go to how things will be on the outside world. And she wasn't snide in the slightest?
Ali has said herself you can be fake in the house, but still be a good person. She might be wary of BP but she's never nominated her, so it's not like she dislikes her.
One of Ali's biggest criticisms from people is that she over analyses, yet that is one of things people do most to Ali, it's almost like every action and every conversation is warped into something nefarious. It's not that at all, I think the constant name calling of all HMs is toxic and cruel. Ali just happens to be the one people push their vitriol towards the most and to an excessive degree. Some people seem obsessed in a negative way.
Name calling isn't a complex opinion, btw.
Remember last week Ali was distancing herself from Nathan, now she's best mates with him. To me, that's completely transparent and phoney as he's survived about as many evictions as her.
How is that ^ "hating on her". Questioning, hers, or any other HM's motivation is literally why this forum exists. I'd happily have a respectful debate about it, but as soon as you try to put your point across and others don't like it, you're a "raging hater". It's boring

And that's allowed to be questioned, Considering his political stance, it's shocking to see her so close with him, for all what he stands for. Being civil is one thing, but actually mating up with him and saying she'll "take Rosie's place with him" is absolutely worth questioning.

Dude, you've called people who like Ali many names, so maybe don't take the high ground on the subject of name calling because frankly you are on the of the worst offenders.
Ali wasn't distancing herself from Nathan at all. What's happened is that Ali's best friend was still in the house, and she'd even bonded really closely with Khaled and he left, and so of course she will gravitate towards others. Ali's lost all those closest to her, do viewers expect her to sit on her own? That isn't phoney, it's just human and they would have all done it.
And this is what I find missing when it comes to judgement of Ali's behaviour: wider context and nuance.
Like yesterday, she got a load of critique about being nice to Segun and then complaining about him. That was totally a normal reaction: she said to him he shouldn't feel bad about getting the 10k because it will change his life, but of course she would still to be annoyed she was put in that position, she's allowed to feel disappointed and irritated while still reassuring someone who was also in a **** position.

That's crazy to me, how people can dismiss such behaviour. Like he lying to Emma, kissing Nathan's arse and offering to "take Rosie's place" with Nathan?
I agree it's annoying when people can't admit her faults, but it's equally annoying when people read into every little thing in a negative way, as well and I see that happening far more than the other.
She shouldn't have lied to Emma, it was a weird thing to do, but then her convo in the diary room was odd because she seemed to not remember. I don't actually think that was a lie because she's not stupid. I don;'t agree with the way she was with Khaled at the start, either.
But I've not seen one other HM put under such a negative microscope as much as Ali and those are are just as annoying, if not more because it's fuelled from dislike, than the fans that won't hear a bad word said about her.
There's talking to housemates and then there's crawling up their bum.
Was she gravitating towards other HMs or what she crawling up their bum?
She's always been close with Nathan anyway so it's kind of a moot point.
I love Emma but she has bitched about nearly everyone yet is always friendly to their face  so not sure Emma is the right person to judge.
Lostie!

So predictable, nothing to add to the debate, so just resort to calling others "hateful" and "raging". That's an old burnt out tactic to attempt to shut someone down, it doesn't work. Im perfectly calm thank you very much. And would be generally interested in your thoughts on her new formed alliance with Tory, Farage loving, royalist Nathan?
You've been insulting Ali fans for ages. Whilst you're out there getting that fresh air I advised, pick up some self awareness while you're at it Also, what debate? You're not providing any debate, you're just being arsey because someone you don't like on a TV show happens to have fans. I promise there's a big world out there, go explore it.
And I couldn't care less about her being friends with Nathan. Any further questions treacle?

Treacle? That's brilliant, haven't been called that for years, love it :hee:
I don't like Trump either, but he still won. These things happen. Always healthy to debate it though, huh?
Why are you using "get some fresh air" as an insult, sweetheart?

It's not an insult, it's genuine advice because your response to Ali is verging on alarming.
But hey, I'm a mentally unwell, gullible cult member according to somebody who never insults people so what do I know?

Same old bollocks, you are "worrying, alarming, raging". Im still smiling at the being called "treacle" tbh. I would expect nothing less though. Predictable as always.
I seem to remember you and your "alarming hatred" for Nathan in the daily HL show thread, now you're ok with him, because Ali is? Ok then. Queen of morals.

Help is out there. Good luck
